And you could be Bill Gates.  If you want to be an A$$ to me about something do me a favor and don't make it about me being in the military.  Choose something else.

Oh yeah, and next time please don't reference me with a rapist/serial killer.

...well I am not Bill Gates. But I am an entrepreneur.

OK your story has more holes than Swiss Cheese. Happy with that? Garrow was an infamous killer in this area who got shot about 100 times (hence, the holes) when he escaped. I didn't say you were a serial killer, lighten up, specialist. But, then again most liberal Dems have no sense of humor, so no one is surprised that you get the long johns in a bunch. I just really don't believe that you are a soldier deployed in the theater who is so curious about Rotterdam and so much of a "rooter" for the democrat liberals that you post here 500 times a day. But then again you could just have an uncle who is a committeeman back home. Most young people who leave here and find a new life and career couldn't give a flying f**k about local political scrapes. But maybe you just love civics.

Hey, call me cynical, but I just love the theatrics people will go through to disguise themselves so no one can figure out who they are. Paid political staffers on both democrat and republican payrolls get on here and make stories up all day about how they work at Golub, go to the senior center, drive a schoolbus, work out of the basement selling MaryKay and whatever fits their alter egos best... all to make the 50 other people reading they are simply interested observers of the political landscape, doing their civic duty being non-partisan watchdogs over one side or another. Meanwhile, I can count on maybe 4 fingers the people I know who come on here and have private sector jobs or businesses and actually are supporting the tax base while the other 90% of political gangs are sucking it dry. So if you ARE a serviceman, and you ARE deployed, why the F**K is it germane to this board? And IF YOU ARE, then thank you for the service to our country, no matter which side of the street you are rooting for. So don't accuse me of being against Motherflaggancountry, OK?

Your first worry about what is happening in-country is that stupid housing project? This deployed soldier story is coming up filled with more holes than Robert Garrow.

You've sound like you have been in schenectady county too long GB.

Well again, you can believe what you want.  Your the one on the defensive here not me.

I am in the military.  I am deployed and does everyone have to have a vested interest to be a member of this board?

"So don't accuse me of being against Motherflaggancountry"  where in my post did you pull this gem?  all I said was pick on something else other than ME being in the military.  If you find that as an attack on your "Motherflaggancountry" outlook then I think you need to take something for your paranoia.

I have been in the military for a lot more then a couple of years so you can take that condisending tone out of your posts.  Or just keep on being an internet tuff guy.  Remember, you are the one who decided to attack me.  I was enjoying my conversations with the others in the group just fine without you.

Recap of some of my other posts. -military -deployed -found board while looking up FDG -found the people interesting and entertaining.

So what holes are in my story?  If you have something credible please enlighten me.

Have a nice day.

No, Bgage, although you work for government, you actually want to do something positive from what I believe. I never thought you were really on "either team." So maybe my percentages are out of whack. But I am talking about the political operatives who work at the assembly, Senate, county, or whatever, of which you are none, BGage. You are your own man.

And as far as you Giantsfan, I still don't believe you. You are an operative. I tried to believe you at first, but I can't say I believe you are some "independent" while I know you are here to try to shine up the Democrat liberal admin and ask questions like you just fell off the turnip cart. Am I free to challenge you, or are imposing your own brand of marshal law? Maybe I am just a cynic. Shoot me then. And if you have been in more than a couple of years and you really do serve but have a burning interest in local politics and can be logged on for practically days on end, I apologize for addressing you as specialist. You are probably an officer.

So tell us what you found out about the housing at the five corners. You seem like you do your homework no matter what your slant is.

From the middle East   00?

And I don't think I have hidden the fact that my original interest was/is the incoming administration.  As for defending them well, devils advocate suits me most of the time.  My political views are quit diverse.  Atleast I like to think so.

Anyway.  I have found nothing new out.  Atleast I don't think it is new.  Something about an independent contractor trying to by the land.  Wanting to push out the locals living there.  This is all third hand so I don't know how true it is.  I was told it was pretty common knowledge around town though.  I was also told that a lot of the town was against it.

You may have helped by adding "at the five corners" search engines are so picky.

There are rumors all over the town on who these people actually are that own the old army depot housing complex. And there appearsto be some back peddling going on now. Things that probably should have been looked into right from the get go! But that's how things are done in rotterdam. A$$ backwards!

Sewer dispute still remains unresolved
Company submits new papers in fight over zoning and connection

BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter
Reach Gazette reporter Justin Mason at 395-3113 or jmason@dailygazette.net.

But the drawn-out nature of the situation prompted board member Gerard Parisi to question the status of the housing area. He asked why the town hadn’t moved to enforce any of the decisions against Sync.
“They’re operating outside of the zoning regulations,” he said during the board’s meeting last week. “We have an order.”
Andrew Brick, a private attorney representing Sync, said an application for a zoning change and out-of-district sewer connection was submitted to the town last fall, but neither has progressed. He said Sync hasn’t pushed the issue of a zone change because the company believes it has solid proof that the housing area was commercially leased during the 1950s.
At the time, Brick said the facility was operated by a company called Mohawk Manor. Leases from that time period show that apartments in the complex were indeed rented to civilians, and not exclusively to military personnel or their families.
“Which completely undermines the original ZBA decision,” he said.
Sync purchased the property next to the Galesi-owned Rotterdam Corporate Park for $1.92 million in March 2008, following a surplus auction conducted by the U.S. General Services Administration. At the time, Galesi warned the company that they would need to find a new sewer connection because the corporate park required the excess capacity for future expansion.
Sync later filed two separate court actions asking that the sewer connection be kept in perpetuity and that the town grandfather the property’s use as multi-family residential. Judges in both court cases ruled against Sync. .............>>>>...................>>>>...............http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01701&AppName=1

ROTTERDAM
Commission opposes rezoning of housing area

BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter

Sync Realty’s struggle to legally rent out apartments at the former Rotterdam Housing Area hit a snag Tuesday when members of the Planning Commission voted against rezoning the property.
Short two members, the commission voted to recommend to the Town Board that it not change the property’s zoning from industrial to multi-family residential. The non-binding decision will be forwarded to the board, which will ultimately decide on the zone change.
The vote came after the commission received a number of correspondences critical of Sync’s request for a zoning change. Among them was a letter from Mohonasen schools Superintendent Kathleen Spring, who indicated that a sudden influx of special needs students from the former military housing complex off Duanesburg Road was driving up the district’s budget by an estimated $420,000.
“This is nearly 2 percent on the tax levy,” she wrote in a letter that was forwarded to the commission from Supervisor Frank Del Gallo’s office and read aloud during the meeting.
Spring also wrote of the district’s concerns for living conditions in the housing area. She said the Rotterdam police determined that there were about 100 emergency calls to the complex in 2009 alone, including four times for fires or arcing wires, and at least 10 arrests for issues ranging from criminal mischief to assault.
“Certainly, the change of zoning on this property would have a long-term, permanent impact on our district,” she stated. “As resources become increasingly sparse, these costs will add to the burden that the district has to shift to the taxpayer, something that we have always been very cautious of doing wherever possible.”
The commission also received a pointed letter from Evan Christou of Tops American Grill at Five Corners. He said the housing area appears to be in a “disappointing state of disrepair” and questioned the safety of the buildings.
“The condition of these buildings negatively impacts the value of our properties and does not portray a community which boasts in its motto ‘a nice place to live,’ ” he wrote in the correspondence.
Town Board member Gerard Parisi questioned whether there was a conflict of interest between Town Attorney Michael Godlewski and Andrew Brick, a lawyer representing Sync. He said Brick’s help during their transition between administrations this winter and an opinion on the zoning change by Godlewski seemed suspect. ...............>>>>.................>>>>................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r00901&AppName=1

Kathleen Spring - did she really just say that????

rotterdam - the Mohon side

are you handicapped?  - don't live here you are to expensive

we only want the poor - who have no mental or physical problems

not handicapped - stop by town hall and get a parking permit

there were other ways - like code enforcement

rotterdam - the schalmont side

as long as it is brand spankin' new

we'll take it damn the indirect costs like sewer, education, and police

Talking to each other is better than talking about each other

We can't have those "special needs" kids going to Mohonasen.  They are a drain on our recourses.  Give those kids to another district, like Schenectady.  I can't believe an educator stated publically that an influx of special needs children would blow up the budget.

Is the Superintendent of Schalmont going to write a letter in opposition to Larned's requested zoning change and 248 unit apartments?  Maybe if they rezone, Rotterdam can exclude "special needs" children from living in those proposed apartments.

So much for the "it's for the kids" when budget time comes.

Notice that Ms. Spring sent a letter...she didn't have the nerve to appear to person and provide her comments.

Now the rezone request goes onto the Town Board...doesn't Revitalize Rotterdam owe a favor to Sync?  What a mess we have with this new administration!

And don't forget..there will be no residents' questions answered at the TB meeting.
