More "renaissance" news. After all the pre-auction hype and talk of multiple bidders the auction for the old SACC-TV building laid an egg. One bidder at $100,000 {below auction minimum} for a building accessed at $300,000. More wonderful work by the City assessor.. SACC-TV also owes Metrograft $36,000 for "facade work". Rotsa ruck collecting on that.
Attention all Rotterdam cable subscibers! SACC "leader" Gary McCarthy wants you to pay for this horrible programming. Now is the time to call TH and say No to any SACC-TV contributions.
Just what we need in "renaissance" Downtown another empty parking lot.
They paved Sad-SACC-TV and put up a parking lot with a pink hotel, a boutique and swingin hot spot! Right they might need the parking for the "pedestrian village"-ROTFLMAO!!
SCHENECTADY Habitat buys SACC-TV building BY MICHAEL LAMENDOLA Gazette Reporter
Habitat for Humanity of Schenectady County Inc. has purchased SACC-TV’s 115 N. Broadway building and plans to relocate its administrative offi ce and retail home improvement store there from Foster Avenue, officials with both organizations said. SACC-TV President Nick Barber said Habitat is paying $212,800 for the building, which sits kitty-corner to Center City. “All contingencies have been meet. The sale has been approved by the board of directors of SACC-TV, except for the membership vote and for final approval by the state attorney general,” Barber said. SACC-TV’s membership will vote on the sale on April 15, Barber said. “The membership will only deal with the building sale, so that we can close May 1,” he said. Barber said the attorney general’s office has to ensure that proceeds from the sale are dedicated to a similar organization for the operation of public access television. He said this organization is Open Stage Media, a division of Proctors. Open Stage Media replaced SACC-TV as the provider of local public access television. Barber said SACC-TV will use proceeds from the sale to repay Metroplex $46,000, an advance toward facade work on the Broadway building. SACCTV also wants to buy approximately $36,000 in broadcasting equipment for Open Stage Media. It already purchased a $46,000 server for Open Stage Media. ..................>>>>...............>>>>>...........http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r00902&AppName=1
How wonderful! Another non-profit? One leaves and the next comes in. Permanently off the tax rolls. Great. Let the homeowners suck it up. Private businesses need not apply.
Welcome to Metrograft's Schenectady-no retail, no business, no increase in property values, sales taxes plummet and nobody says nuthin. More renaissance. The City assessor reassessed this recently for $500,000?-lol-Gee, wonder why no private concern snapped it up?
