Who cares what a former resident of the town thinks? We live here! We have to withstand the affects of our town government. Do we really care what the view is of a former resident who no longer has to suffer the affects of this board? What are the odds that Mr. Guido has any clue about the travesty that is FDG and BG? Mr. Guido, let's make a deal: I'll stay out of Melbourne politics, which I have no idea about, and you stay out of Rotterdam politics because you likely have no idea about the day to day course of events in this town.

True, but some people who live "out of town" are still maintaining an interest in what goes on - maybe there's rental property there, maybe family, maybe business ownership. For instance, I'm now considered an "out of towner" or "former resident" - but I maintain a vested interest in what happens in the town. Interestingly enough, I also had the opportunity to "chat" with some of FDG's business associates this week, in yet another state, and found the conversation MOST enlightening!  Suffice it to say he may not be the "successful" businessman that he was portrayed to be. Lots of interesting tidbits are dropped in an informal conversation ..  even better when a couple roared laughing to hear he was elected town supervisor.

A legal adviser is just that...an adviser.  It is not the Town Attorney's responsibilitiy to counsel the Supervisor, then shame him publicly if the Supervisor does not go along with what he says.

Not at all saying this happened...just saying that the Town Attorney's job is to provide legal advice, often when asked.  No wrongdoing was done, in my opinion.  Nothing illegal took place.  At least GP wasn't a Dem-in-diapers like the new attorney I hear they have, who focuses more on stroking Godlewski's...ego than he does on doing right by the law and the residents.

That guy is one to talk about bad audits. My long institutional memory serves me well. He once ran some sort of state group home when he was on the dem tit years ago and there was news in the Gazetto about a big investigation and improprieties of money being thrown around. He was long known for his letters defending Jimmy Constantino as well, so being part of the dem team from early on, it is natural he would still be working for the same bosses, even in retirement.

His most recent letter was lionizing Obama about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Of course, if you have a different viewpoint the DG would tell you that you had a letter printed too recently and they would not run it. This guy must have written 100 letters to the editor attacking Republicans and defending Clinton, Cuomo, Constantino, Sheldon Silver etc. If Stalin and Lavrenty Beria were running on the Dem line and had Mengele as their running mate, he would find them to be greatest humanitarians of all time.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

And Joe Salamone has dated ST's daughter for years.  Whats your point?  Everybody in Rotterdam is related.   Did you know that Mr Parisi is related to the Dagostinos?  Idiotic post MM.

Eh, I dunno...ST is political history...DelGallo is fresh meat, and fair game...I think that's the point.

TBV--Delgallo is fresh meat?  That would be the term Rep vultures and NNTP losers would use.  Peeper not such a bad post.  It puts the letter in a context for some folks.  Actually not everybody is related in Rotterdam.  Some of us are interlopers.

Some of us who supported the new change in administration are beginning to wonder where the change is?  The critical areas are still filled with ST folks.  And where the old employees should have been returned to their jobs, seat warmers seem to be in place.  What do your friends at the Senior Center say about this?  My friends there are not too happy with what is going on?  Perspective?

Fresh meat i.e. someone who is new on the block.  I don't know about you, alleykat and Diane...but when I go to the store, I buy fresh meat...not washed up politicos.  Del Gallo is what this town voted for, and whom the focus of this town should be on.

As for the Sr. Center, I hear MANY are upset over Diane being there over John.  As many recall, John was calm, level-headed and kind.  Diane is a rude, animalistic never-was.

TBV--actually some like DM over John.  John was calm because he didn't care about those who were aging.  He ignored the seniors on a regular basis and did nothing for them.  The job was just a way for him to get more bucks in his pocket while he was retired.  The State office did not hold him in high regard.  However, Diane has no real interest in the welfare of the town's aging population.

You TBV used the term fresh meat.  Not I.  Yes FDG is the new kid to kick around on the block.

I'm aware that I used the term, and that you criticized it.  I furthered explained what that phrase was used to suggest.  Is there any confusion?  Do you have a guilty conscience that your golden boy Del Gallo is nothing more than a twit who knows little of what's going on around him.  He looks blind up there, with Godlewski holding his hand and guiding him.  Total loser!

I'm ashamed for my town.

Guilty-conscience???LOL   First he is not MY golden boy but he was good enough to get rid of the corrupt Tom and Gerry show.  I amy have fallen out of favor with the Reps long ago but a Twit this man is not??   Godlewski should guide him through.  He is new at this.  Finally somebody in office who really works for a living and gets the problems of young families who are struggling.  ST and the gang never got that part.

There is much to be ashamed of but that ain't it.

alleykat are you smoking something? Are you saying some like DM because she has no real interest in the welfare of the town's aging population? As to the Solomone/ST thing, all of you saying this is no big deal would likely be saying JS is dating ST's daughter if JS wrote a letter defending ST. Fair is fair.

No I'm not smoking anything.  I said some people like DM just because she is not JD.  But she does not have the experience or the interest with that population to make that job into what it used to be.   I don't understand the rest of your post.

Interesting ~ if you check the record ~ you will find that Signore and Mertz opposed the contract to DV ~ and they questioned the legality ~ ST advised the Town that Jerry gave it two thumbs up.

The Supervisor should be defended ~ along with the former town board ~ they relied on the attorney's legal advice.

Then again ~ maybe they should be faulted for relying on such $hitty advice.

Mr. Magoo, Charlie Brown or Casper could have done that ... "good enough" doesn't necessarily mean "good".
