"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United
States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives,

Great "ammendment" - but changing the constitution of the United States isn't that easy ... and this was just a proposal.  Do you really think the current occupants of Congress and Pennsylvania Ave will REALLY allow this to come for a vote?

Fact is, no one in Washington needs to approve of this.  That is one way, but the other way is that 2/3 of the states have to pass it as a law.

If the amendment was put on every ballot in every state as a referendum it would probably pass especially with the mood the whole country is in right now.
