Peeper--yes the administration (new one) could rise or fall on what FDG does with Surprise.  Many of us in the trenches are expecting his removal one way or another.  He has harmed the town plenty.
If FDG needs to keep him because of the contract then he should be forced to give up his other assessing jobs out of Rotterdam.  Surpirse oddly enough is connected in TH to both Dems and Reps.  Those Dems who helped bring him aboard, should be hanging their heads now.  He's a bad boy and needs to leave the house.

As for Darlene Mullally.  She is VERY connected.  Very well thought of from the Speaker's office down to Ways and Means committee.  If FDG wants her as his secretary, that's who he should have.  He's the Supervisor and needs to work with people he is comfortable with.

The "new" senior center...I think not.  Sounds like the same old nonsense with new players.  However, "REAL" help for the senior people will be expected and demanded.  Play time is over.

I don't EVER remember or have EVER heard fdg say he was going to fire surprise. I only heard/read that from the few on this board. Especially PEEPER and all alias'!

Even my dem friends said that the dems picked fdg cause he is a follower and not a leader. Not when it comes to politics. That he was nothing more than the vehicle to get them in control. They saw that he had the bucks for his campaign and the party if needed. Basically they all used him!

FDG will fire surprise IF the puppeteers pull his strings.

It's politics as usual in rotterdam again folks! It is as dysfunctional and pathetic and still the laughing stock in the tri-city area. Now that's something to be proud of eh?

Few may think of the new secretary as "very connected" but let's face it, NYS is BROKE and there is nothing
to be had!  It's not like Rotterdam will get any additional funding by adding this employee to the payroll.

Town Hall will just be the "clubhouse" with high-priced members like Mullally!

Felipe,
When an outgoing leadership wants to stick to an incoming leadership and ultimatly the people they represent.

Seems to me that Mr. Delgallo's dislike for Mr. Surprise is/was well known.

You know, this FDG is a puppet thing is odd to me.  The more I read about the man the more I think it is the other way around.  FDG is a self made millionaire.  You don't do that by being stupid.  You sorround yourself with people you know can and will do the job the way you want it done.  It looks to me like FDG wanted to change what he saw as bad management of the county he lived in.  So he sought out the people he needed to get into office.  They maybe mutually using each other but that is politics in a nutshell.  As for FDG bringing people from outside of Rotterdam to fix it also seems buisness orientated.  He is using people he trusts in a office were those left from before could easily make it harder for him to do his job.  I am not saying that all the people still there are going to work against him.  I am saying that he needs a select few that he can speak freely with about anything without it turning into something negative.

As I said before I am in the Military and even in the Military the good leaders take the people they trust with them when they can.  It just makes sense.

Pretty sad that an appointment like Mr Surprise could wipe out an entire administration but he did.  Wonder how he sleeps at night not knowing when the "grim reaper" will pay him a visit for his crimes against humanity eh?

He sleeps quite well on a feather bed with money in the bank. Speaking of day jobs-maybe trade assessor with the City? Another one with "special people skills". Throw in a lob to be named later?

FDG digs holes and fills them with water. K?
The slate of and cons dems went to FDG!
He didn't want the stupid position.
FDG hasn't voted in over one decade.

Bottom line.....he didn't like the taxes he was paying.

He is just the 70 year old puppet. Too bad you weren't here to see FDG's expertise at the town board meeting.
It was shameful at best. The dems and cons should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for putting this man in this position. AND he should be ashamed for accepting it! IMHO

Bumblethru, so by your logic he became a millioniare by just digging holes.  He didn't have to have any buisness sense what so ever?  He doesn't have to be smart?

He is sorrounding himself with people who know the political relm and that makes him a puppet?

I think you are severly underestemating this man.  If all it took was to dig holes then all of us would be millionaires.

No I wasn't there for his first board meeting.  Heard it was really bad.  Did he say much or did he sit back and just listen?  The guy hasn't been in the position for 2 months yet but he already isn't going to do anything?     Because things change that fast!  Give me a break.

Peeper - who put Mr. Surprise into his position?

I'm still waiting for the big "bomb" to drop on Surprise...after all, he's so terribly negligent in his job duties, right?  Gimme a break...
