Actually...I take that back...is the NNTP going to wait to see how Parisi does, before you automatically select a replacement?  Probably not, right?

You're kidding, right?  It isn't like he doesn't have a history from which he can be judged.  I'm hoping that Joe Suhrada considers running
for office with the NNTP.  Other than his position in support of creating a new tax district, Joe had generally been a reliable conservative while serving on the County Legislature.

The Rep party has some other good people some of who ran for office last November and lost.  They deserve another opportunity
to run with the help of people who support them.  I won't identify who I think should run again with NNTP backing.  We will be in
touch with them in time.

I don't know of a history of public office for GP.  I know he's a successful businessman, several times over.  I'm sure the NNTP guys would appreciate that.  I think he should be an option, at the very least.  Unless his personal conflict with John Mertz is the determining factor, which would be unfortunate and disingenuous to the taxpayers.

Quoted from CICERO
Hmmm... It's interesting.  "The Comp. was advised of his rights and requested no action be taken at this time other then a matter of record."  And "outrageous and threatening
comments were made".

Did our wonderful RPD take any statements from Mr. Mertz?  Is it the responsibility for our investigators to investigate alleged "death threats"?

A police chief who is politically active in the Conservative Party and openly dislikes Mr. Mertz, and Parisi the Republican Party boss who doesn't like and recently un-endorsed Mr. Mertz.  Gee,
how convenient.  The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Why vote the NNTP you ask?  Because as you can see, party bosses and politically motivated police brass can squash the voice of our elected representation.   John Mertz was elected by the
people of Rotterdam and the party bosses from the Rep and Con party took down a sitting representative.  As you see,
our democracy is easily manipulated, and I believe this to be absolute proof.  Was this document obtained through FOIL, OR was it printed off by
somebody inside our police department?

Morons.....  How do you figure the chief tried to discredit Mertz by NOT investigating some nonsense claim alleged in the middle of Mertz's campaign?  AND by NOT disclosing it to the press in
November.???
Somehow, a he-said she-said (and I do mean SHE said) report with no one verifying the truthfullness of the complaint is so harmful to Mertz 6 months after his political career ended???
Some cop or the chief is so upset with Mertz NOW that he releases it on some blog.  Somehow Mertz is a threat to the police department????Come on, I would have to guess that there is
someone who has Mertz a little more in their sights than Chief Hamilton or some cop at the police department.

As for the Police Chief openly disliking Mertz- I just got off the phone with our chief and he tells me he has no problem whatsoever with John Mertz. Where do you get the "openly dislikes"
from?Although I am active in the Conservative Party, I can attest that the chief is far from active in it.

What would you be saying if the wonderful RPD investigated the complaint, took a statement from Pat Sacoccio and other witnesses and arrested Mertz for a crime while he was campaigning
for Town board?  Then it would be- look what they did to Mertz... they took her Gerard's word over John and they ruined his chances to be elected because the
cops know Mertz is anti-cop blah blah blah

Wait and see how much MORE money he can siphon from the Rotterdam taxpayers?  Nah, I've seen enough.

Chief's not an executive board member in the conservative party?  If he isn't I apologize my information is incorrect, but if he is, I would call that "active".

"Openly dislikes" would go back to the Police Commission and RPD's finest at Town Hall in black t-shirts - along with the chief.

The Chief:

Executive Board Member?  NO

Committeeperson?  NO

Carried petitions?  NO

As far as Police Commission days- I highly doubt the chief wore one of the black t-shirts you refer to and if you say the chief openly disliked Mertz because he

spoke up when Mertz tried to control the police department and tried to make certain promotions the chief refused to go along with- then I wouldn't say he "openly disliked him"-
I would say he had some integrity and didn't just go along with the pay to play politics...  I consider the chief a friend of mine and I would say you probably are misinformed
or you misremembered.

I guess using the whole "stolen gun handles" and the leaking of an officer's disciplinary records during the town supervisor race a few years ago, so it could be use as political fodder, would lead me to believe that the RPD (chief included) like to play politics.  Call me crazy.  To act as if the RPD isn't political is ridiculous.

As you do point out, the chief is smart enough to not give the appearence of playing politics.  Yet memo's and disciplinary records have been leaked in the past under his leadership, to be used in political campaigns.

Perhaps it is just all speculation, but hami was in attendance at the town boards 'black shirt event' when the police commission was the hot topic issue. It was under his leadership that his police force showed up in black shirts depicting thugs and behaving disrespectfully. It was also under hami's watch that the stolen gun handles also became an issue which happened during an election year.

Call it just a conspiracy theory, but there clearly has not been a healing process between the cops and mertzie. I have many friends who are family members of cops. And in the last election they actually told me that they 'could not' vote for mertzie cause of the police commission fiasco that happened.....how many years ago?? Political? You  make the call!

Now, could it be that it is also a conspiracy theory, or perhaps paranoia, that leads 'some' to believe that the NNTP is being funded by RACC? If this is true, please provide that evidence. We would all like to know. Or is it just here-say?

And why is mertzie being targeted? The NNTP is way beyond mertzie. People are giving him too much credit here! The entire movement involves hundreds (soon to be thousands) of other people...people that are much more active in this endevor......every day people who are sick and tired of the two party system that has failed us miserably. People who feel they are NOT being represented fairly. People who are looking for conservative values. They are looking for integrity and transparency and honesty in their government. They are looking for smaller less intrusive government.

When police, politics collide
Chief, in memo, says pressure from officials kept officer in the clear

That unusually candid statement appears in a secret Rotterdam Police Department memorandum obtained by the Times Union. A source with firsthand knowledge of the memo confirmed its authenticity to the newspaper.

According to the memo, Officer Robert Denny, who has one of the worst employee records in the department, was nevertheless promoted to sergeant in July even as he faced a suspension. Denny allegedly stole pearl handles from an antique gun a town resident found and gave to police, according to sources familiar with the incident. Instead of logging the handles as evidence, he gave them to a friend, the sources said.

Well it seems as if DM took a lesson or two in bullying from JM.  She threatened a candidate running for office this
past election, in a public place.

Care to elaborate, MM? Seems as if you stated a fact here.
