One can be a member of a union at work --- and still be a conservative.
I have belonged to 3 unions in my life time  and in all 3 cases joining the union was REQUIRED.  In general, I have mixed emotions about unions ..I know from family history that the unions did a lot of good in the auto industry in Detroit and at GE during the 1940's and 1950's.    On the other hand, I was a bit miffed that when I was making $2.90 an hour working at Caldor's back in the late 1970's  ---- the head of the union that I was required to be a member of was getting a 7 figure compensation package.

Caldor's??? That is probably the last decent job you held. If they were only still around, maybe you could go back.

Tell HIM that. I have my own fish to fry. In the mean time you can't produce one credible shred of evidence that any of your tax and spend plans will ever fly.

actually .. I don't have ANY  "tax and spend plans" ---- the fact is that we own the land (that decision was made a number of years ago) and  the grant money we are applying has already come out of your taxes ---   so try to use even 1/100th of your brain and realize that if we don't apply for the grants -- it won't lower your taxes

and my evidence that my proposal for Bicentennial Park will fly  -- is that numerous communities around the country have taken underutilized land  in their communities --- gotten PRIVATE FUNDING plus federal and state grants  -- and successfully developed the underutilized lands into  passive use parks for the enjoyment of the residents.
YOU ARE THE ONE WITH  NOT EVEN A SHRED OF EVIDENCE THAT THE IDEA WILL NOT WORK  so crawl back under the rock you slithered from

With high unemployment, no jobs, homes foreclosures, sluggish economy...............where the heck is the government getting the $$$$ to support all of these huge government entitlement programs?????? The tax base has obviously declined!! They continue to print money that isn't worth the paper it was printed on!! And locally they apparently think they can continue to spend as well.

They aren't paying taxes, but what they are paying is in the form of inflation.  Our federal government is funded with borrowed money.  We are paying our debts by printing more money and causing inflation.  So even if those people don't think they are paying taxes, they are wrong.  The U.S. monetary policy causes inflation, causing the price of everything to go up in price.

If Americans had to pay direct taxes to fund the government programs, we would have less government programs.  But, when we fund the government by creating huge debt and printing money to pay it, nobody knows any different.  People just believe there is an automatic rate of inflation.  That inflation is created by the central banks.  Inflation IS the tax.

Maybe the stunad park can get some RIDA money just like the governmental gin mill? So what if neither project has anything to do with industrial development. Anything goes with the DEM morons. Call this park "renaissance park" and tap into Metrograft largess. About time some crumbs fell over here.

What DVR fails to comprehend is that State grant money has all dried up, The State has a record deficit and is laying off thousands. A new unneeded park for Rotterdam is not a priority. They don't have any money for every half baked park "plan".

Do you think Parisi & Salamone and the "other" Republican committee members would support a - Santabarbara/McGarry ticket?

Not sure if he's the ONLY one, I believe Angelo's employer conducted some useless "studies" for the Town of Rotterdam during the Tommasone Admin.  But of course, Chazen wasn't awarded the job because of Angelo's political position, his employer(Chazen) was the lowest bidder, just like GP's bro's law firm.

McGarry might collect a paycheck as a school teacher, but at least there is transparency. Unlike the sneaky ways Ang and GP steer tax money to their private businesses because of the political positions they hold.

And you have no problem with Harry collecting a county pension, county salary as a professor at SCCC, and potentially Town salary all at the same time??
