GB-New Year's Day was not a massacre--more like a "comeuppance." Steverino and his pals deserved a swift kick in the butt. BM is a nice guy who, incidentally, did the right thing by staying home from that debate. He also appears to be somewhat reasonable albeit Conservative. Maybe the Dems felt they owed something to him since he sat home that night (which could not have been an easy decision for him to make) and maybe they felt warmly toward him since he went to congratulate them that night with Mertz. I think Mertz will try a comeback as well and with the Democrats. Word is that he has been cozying up to them. But he will have to stop taking the "stupid" pills that former Ethics Board colleagues tell me he began taking. GB makes sense. BM needs to clarify so that everyone is on the same page and we can stop trying to be investigative reporters.
I think the term "New Years Day Massacre" sounds so much better since they fired an entire board plus a whole ot of other town workers all in one fell swoop. Whether you agree or not, it was a newsmaking day and in Rotterdam history was pretty unprecedented! Hell the DG actually wrote a story on it too!!!
So let Brian come out and speak now...
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
I heard they replaced the IDA board illegally, fired the attorney for the board, fired the executive director, fired Degeorgio and that some secretaries will be out also. They reduced a stipend for Longo to three dollars, essentially forcing his resignation from that post.
Anybody know of anything else that happened on the first day? The best part about it is that they asked for a consensus agenda...instead of getting input on the issues, they tried to sneak it by us! I hope del Gallo starts to realize what's happening around him. Or is he too much of a dolt?
Sorry GB I still think "massacre" is too strong. DeGiorgio deserved to be let go. He is underhanded in so many ways. One of the biggest back-stabbers the Town has ever seen. He must be stunned that he couldn't gret himself out of this one. Not sure what the stipend is about for Longo. He was pretty innocuous. Not sure why they are coming down on him. TBV nothing illegal about dumping that board and replacing them. Don't underestimate Delgallo. He is no dolt. But Parisi sure looked like one that day.
GB get in there and take the reins of the Republican party. Somebody has got to stop the bleeding. Watch out there are more surprises coming our way.
Benny Salami--are you crazy? BM has NOT positioned himself to be the next Supervisor--at least it doesn't look that way to me. He has a lot of explaining to do--and that just to his party mates. I hope they will weigh in on this issue.
Felipe-I think BM is a fine person--a really fine person. Smart, likable, maybe the top candidate. But I am troubled about his appointment to the IDA (why not someone else--why someone with his profile) and curious about his attendance at the Election night party where he showed up with Mertz as his date. Something there is just not kosher.

I must say that it doesn't make sense to me either. Perhaps someone could call fdg and ask him.

'cause it ain't KOSHER politics.....it's Rotterdam's meatballs and spaghetti politics........
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
