Bravo FOF. Let Papa make his calls. Salami got the scoop. MDV will resign AFTER the 1st. The last dead ender will leave the building. When will the much delayed REPS housecleaning commence?

Congrats to a prominent Rotterdam family. MDV is doing the right thing. People wanted a change. Not a recycle, more young blood. As far as REPS leaving a sinking ship in droves -can you blame them?

Your scoop is wrong.

Benny hasn't learned yet, that what he 'hears' or is 'told' is clearly just rhetoric that 'certain people' want to get 'out there'. They use him to spread rhetoric for an adverse reaction. If I were him, I'd be questioning and researching all that is told to him 'before' saying a word. IMHO

So who is it?  Strachi, Howdy Doody or Salamone?

Yeah I was wrong-lol. They should have picked Strachi. He would fit right in with the sock puppets here.

Yea, he says he is staying past the 1st unless something comes up between now and then that is "unexpected"...

If NNTP is going anywhere, it will need to redesign itself--a "new and improved" NNTP.

ROTTERDAM
Republican quits town post

BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter

First-term Republican Town Board member Michael Della Villa tendered his resignation from offi ce this week, leaving the GOP-majority with just under two weeks to appoint his replacement.
Della Villa, who was elected to the board in 2007, said his work as a consultant with RockIT Science Solutions made it difficult for him to meet the many obligations of the position.
He said a private contract in Virginia that started shortly before he was elected went far beyond the eight-week duration he had originally expected.
“This is a double-edged sword, because thankfully, in these diffi cult economic times, I am very grateful to have this contract,” he stated in a resignation letter submitted to the town clerk’s office Monday. “Yet at the same time, I am regretful, as I feel that I am not able to devote my attention to the town of Rotterdam.”
Contacted Friday, Della Villa said his resignation was effective immediately.
He said his traveling precluded him from fulfilling many of his responsibilities on the board, which include once-a-week meetings for both regular business and agenda planning.
Della Villa also serves on Schalmont’s Board of Education. He plans to keep his school board position in part because he can work his schedule around the district’s twice-monthly business meetings on Monday.
“But it’s tough to do when the meetings are dead in the middle of the week,” he said of Rotterdam’s meetings, which occur on Wednesdays and Thursday.
BOARD RATIFICATION
Della Villa’s departure means the outgoing Tommasone administration will have until New Year’s Eve to name a replacement and have the appointment ratified by the all-Republican board. There are no regular meetings scheduled before the board’s annual organizational meeting on New Year’s Day, during which four new board members will be sworn in.
Supervisor Steve Tommasone pledged to appoint a new board member before the incoming administration of Democrat Frank Del Gallo takes over. He said several prospective candidates have asked about the seat and the hope is to schedule a special meeting to make the appointment sometime after Christmas.
Tommsone said the ideal candidate would be someone who could represent the Republicans during the 2010 election.
“It would be my preference to have someone on there who reflects not just our positions, but Mr. Della Villa’s positions as well,” he said.
If a Republican is appointed, the board would have no clear majority heading into 2010. Del Gallo and board member-elect Nicola Dileva are registered Conservatives, while soon-to-be-named Deputy Supervisor Robert Godlewski and board member-elect Matt Martin are registered Democrats.
However, the board’s incoming Conservatives and Democrats ran on a ticket together. The four new board members have since remained closely aligned and have attended town meetings with one another.
One name that has surfaced for the position is Gerard Parisi, one of the town’s privately contracted attorneys and chairman of Rotterdam’s Republican Committee. Tommasone said Parisi did express interest in the spot, but was unsure of the depth of his interest.
Parisi has been at odds with Del Gallo since the 2009 campaign, when he openly questioned the candidate’s ability to serve. His statements prompted Del Gallo and all other candidates appearing on the Democratic ticket to boycott any public forums with the Republicans.
Parisi said the decision isn’t his to make. He acknowledged he had been approached about the position by several people and said he would take it under consideration.
“If I am who the desired replacement is, I will consider accepting the position,” he said in an e-mail correspondence.

I guess the "unexpected" NYS Comptroller's Office audit came up prior to the 1st of the year.

The appointment of Parisi to fill the vacancy will signal the end of the Republican party in
Schenectady County.  The voters rejected him, his campaign tactics, and the party leadership
in the November elections.

Does anyone see a conflict of interest here?  Parisi is the Republican party town chair.
His legal firm has a contract with the Town of Rotterdam, and now he will be appointed
to the Town Board.

Such an appointment would be akin to that of Linda Bellick to the Schenectady
City School Board when Joyce Wachala resigned her position.

FOF--I would agree with you.  Parisi is finished.  Should he take the position, he will be over-ruled
constantly which will only add to his political impotence.  Mason's comment about no clear majority on the board is foolish.  They ran together to rid the town of the current administration.  It is unlikely that "suddenly" they will see things GP's way.  Good idea just the same to have GP there.  This way DelGallo can have the upper hand over a bully.  BTW, this is why Rotterdam always looks stupid to the rest of the Capital District.

I think the will of the people would be to wait until the new board takes their seats in January.  I believe there is a court injunction ready to be filed and a motion to vacate the appointment, if it happens will be adjucated.  Mr DellaVilla has a load of "legal" problems that would have gone away had he waited until after the new year. IMHO

Oh boy, the nasty Tommasone administartion is still at it I see.  Dopey politics at its worst!

That is why I said the "unexpected" unquote>>>........  The unexpected must be what Peeper is referring to as "legal problems".  I assume he/she is
referring to the NYS Comptroller's Office audit that has not been made public yet.  Although I have not heard there will be legal problems- just ethical
ones.  For the Republicans, I think GP would be a great choice to fill the vacant seat.  He would represent what is left of that party well.  Heck, by 2014 the
Rep's may be able to come back into power.

Benny, you should really punch your "sources" in the mouth one day. They are playing ya for a patsy.
GP as the replacement. LMAO. Oh my, that's a good one. Is there anyone left in the Repub party with even a little bit of brains left. LOL! It's a shame MDV is resigning and some negative news is pending. It just shows what happens to a good man when he hangs around with this group. They dirtied him up and he made some bad decisions, IMO.

On to a new topic, who are the Dems or Cons or other party going to run to defeat whatever unelectable individual the Repubs will put up again?
