Heard an interesting rumor today - don't know if it's true or not.
Rumor has it that Della Villa will resign AFTER the Democrats are sworn in to town board positions. His replacement will be decided by the Democratic party and will be from among the Conservative party.
Papanetta, any comment? |

The rumor doesn't make sense. Mike is an enrolled Republican. Why would he intentionally allow the incoming Democrat administration to decide the individual to fill the vacancy, if one occurs? |

Maybe he's another who feels the values of the current party are not the same as the ones he enrolled in years ago. The Republican Party (nationwide) has abandoned most of it's principles, chosen poor leadership and avoided too many races. That's not the way it was when I signed up - and I won't be a conspirator to it now - that's why I changed the (R) next to my name quite a while ago. |

Perhaps Mr DellaVilla has decided against resigning just yet for a favorable exit plan. Maybe he is fed up with the Tommasone Administration like most of the town is! You included in that group BL? I know Mr DellaVilla is a great guy and his loyality to Steve has about run its course. I hope he stays on and changes his enrollment. Perhaps that has been offered? |

I am not a resident of Rotterdam. But, if I am in any group, it is that which is tired of tax-and-spend politicians who are unaccountable to their constituents and who fail to exhibit leadership when required. I am a Conservative who seeks to support and elect those who believe in smaller, less costly, and less intrusive government and who will uphold the Constitution of the United States. |

I doubt it. I hope MD serves out his term, leaving before his term is up and right before an entire new board is sworn in would be looked upon as very shaddy by many people. I hope he is bigger than that and serves out his term. |

I think he should change his enrollment to a CON and give the Con's the majority on the board or if he wants to stay a couple more weeks, the DEMS can put a CON in there. I see a bunch of Republicans switching to CON. Maybe they are planning their second coup attempt. LOL The first one worked so well with the backing of one of the most powerful politicians in the state (at that time) and his "contribution" of tens of thousands of dollars to try to win committee seats of a minor party. WE CONS were well-edgeumecated bak then and are much stronger now. Good Luck! I will call Mike D and see what his intentions are. |

Bravo FOF. Let Papa make his calls. Salami got the scoop. MDV will resign AFTER the 1st. The last dead ender will leave the building. When will the much delayed REPS housecleaning commence? Congrats to a prominent Rotterdam family. MDV is doing the right thing. People wanted a change. Not a recycle, more young blood. As far as REPS leaving a sinking ship in droves -can you blame them? |

If I were a registered Republican, I would nominate Benny for Schenectady County Republican Party Chair. The next Julius Caesar.

You may want to reconsider since he's not a Repub anymore. |

With the Repub's enrollment continuing to shrink, who is going to take the reins? Isn't there a leader among the bunch? |
