On Election Day, 1199SEIU members in New York’s Capital Region were a major force in helping pro-union Democrats win more seats than ever on the Schenectady County Legislature. Over the course of three weeks, 1199 member political organizers knocked on 4,500 doors in the town of Glenville and the village of Scotia to help re-elect Martin Finn, Dr. Brian Gordon and the legislature’s chairwoman, Susan Savage.

And THAT is why the glendale home exists.....UNION VOTES!!! Not what is in the best interest of the taxpayers.

And dontcha just love the way she spun the word 'privatized' as to make it sound 'evil'? It clearly just means 'no union'!

The Berger Commission directed, during the tenure of Savage and Gordon, that the Glendale Home be downsized by 12/31/2010 to 200 beds

Ms. Ives statement should read that these legislators helped save the SEIU positions, not the Glendale Nursing Home.
