Actually, from what friends tell me, write in Pat Zollinger for city council, tell any people you know who live in the city and that Vince Riggi too.
Pass the word
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
Just look at these forums - they spend 2 months trying to convince us, through their respective stooges, that the other candidate sucks and you shouldn't vote for me (ie. mud slinging).
And which stooge are you MT? My guess would be Curly. Strong resemblence... ROTFLMAO

A lack of opposition for three Schenectady City Council incumbent Democrats apparently prompted several dozen people to cast write-in votes on Election Day.
Residents who regularly speak at council meetings came up with the most votes including Vince Riggi, 22; Pat Zollinger, 16 and Mary McClaine, 11. Peter Guidarelli and Mike Cuevas, both defeated Republican mayoral candidates in past elections, also got a call. Cuevas received two votes and Guidarelli got one.
A slew of people not involved in mainstream politics each received a vote. I thought the most interesting of the bunch was Dan Lynch, a talk show host on WDGJ-AM Talk 1300.
I assume he got the vote from a radio fan who likes his stance on various issues. Years ago, I worked for Lynch when he was Times Union managing editor. He's a knowledgeable, honest guy who would be a worthy addition to the Schenectady council.
For various reasons, that won't happen. Lynch now lives in the Finger Lakes region during warmer months and then snowbirds it to Florida.
"Hey, the Schenectady City Council already had a former Times Union editor as one of its members,'' Lynch joked when told he received a write-in vote. He was referring to Frank Maurizio, a former TU executive news editor, who decided not to seek a third term in 2007.
By the way, on the Democrat line Gary McCarthy led the three uncontested incumbents with 4,080 votes. Barb Blanchard came up with 4,009 and Mark Blanchfield had 3,606. City voter turnout is lousy to begin with, but the lack of Republican opposition further reduced the numbers.
