The ACLU is too busy helping people with their rights. Especially those who are entrapped by the government. |

Rights? Like taking Christ out of Christmas? It's a Christmas Parade on Black Friday-ONLY. Not a holiday parade on any day Proctor's Morris chooses. |

It still is surprising to me that there has been no mention of it. Perhaps they (the city government) would just like this parade thing tojust 'go away'. Too much conflict with proctors/morris. Not to mention that they botched up state street so badly, that there appears to be no room for it anymore. Not to mention that when the parade is over, where ya gonna take the kids? PIN HEADS? I mean geezzzeeee......proctors plans a show, and they start advertising 6 months before it's shown. The parade....nothin'! |

MT--you can't respond to one thing without showing YOUR anger and narrow-mindedness. This thread is about a parade. A Christmas parade. This isn't brain surgery. It was a tradition--some people looked forward to it. It revolves around Christmas. THE END. Have the parade. No reason not to. If they try to shut it down again this year PROTEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

MT--I think what you need is a "come to Jesus meeting." No wonder you need to always stand corrected, you always put your foot in your mouth. Cana't you tell the difference between anger and frustration with a ridiculous issue? |

ROTFLMAO!! We all want the Christmas Parade on Black Friday ONLY. Stop nit picking and start organizing. And yes, this was started when you could buy gifts Downtown. When there were actually shops and not only governmental gin mills and gelato stands. Downtown has gone down the toilet but we can still celebrate CHRISTMAS with a parade. On the right day-Proctor's stay shut- nobody cares about your horrid plays. |

This year marks the 41st Annual Holiday Parade in downtown Schenectady. We hope you will join us! If you have participated in the past, you know that this is a unique tradition, a nighttime parade held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, which can draw up to 40,000 spectators.
http://www.schenectadychamber.org/img/document_files/EntryinviteandApplication.pdfI beg to differ with them - this is the SECOND annual "holiday" parade. Obviously, the "Christmas" parade is no more. |

40,000 Spectators? LOL-according to the Gazetto? Real unbiased source. Last year the "crowd" was not even one deep-maybe 2,000 tops. Saturday night? Another failed attempt to prop up failing Downtown tappies and governmental gin mills. Hopefully this will be the last year the Chamber runs this into the ground. They also change the parade route every year. Change route, change name, change date. |
