Town to rededicate Kiwanis Park

    ROTTERDAM — Town officials will rededicate Kiwanis Park Friday in celebration of several recently completed grant-funded improvements.
    The rededication ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the park, which is located on Route 5S near Thruway Exit 26. Last year, Rotterdam received $40,000 from the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation to improve the park’s appearance.
    The renovation project included reconstructing the park’s boat launch, paving the entrance, installing new railings and improving the bathrooms, among other improvements. The town’s Highway and Parks departments provided the town’s match for the grant by providing labor for the project.
