From your award winning Schenectady City Schools- Schenectady High School remains on the "persistently dangerous" school list released today by the SED!

It is among only 13 schools in the State identified as dangerous under the Federal No Child Left Behind Act. Last year, 19 schools were so named. "Persistently dangerous" is defined as 2 consecutive years of serious incidents that meet or exceed State Criteria.

Another great award for the worst run schools in the State. Bring in the FBI and let State Education run the dysfunctional School Board until new elections for all seats next May.

Let the STATE EDUCATION run it-----hell no, I'd rather let the CIA run it....or how about UPS.....gangsta gumbas are from the top
down in this state.....unholy alliances are every where....and we are concerned about 'illegal immigrant gangs'......

Ely has been on news radio today boasting that his school is the only one that reports every single act of violence. The other schools don't so that doesn't make this a true assessment.

If you believe Eric Elys I have a bridge for sale. Schenectady High is one of only two Upstate schools on the most dangerous list {the only other is in Cannan}! This puts this mismanaged High School with the worst NYC schools! No matter the disinformation that Ely's puts out nothing can change that fact.

Agree Senders but who should run it? The Schenectady administration/bored have proved over and over their incompetence failing to fire ANYONE or budget anything. 20 of the 22 laid off teachers are back on the payroll. Let State Ed clean out the barn. Fire everyone at the top and we can start rebuilding next Spring.

Why shouldn't we be comncerned with illegal immigrant gangs? Do you think they have no bearing on things in an urban school? If you think things are bad, then meet MS-13 Senders. They are sure to put a bump in the ratings for Schenectady schools.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Certainly the MS-13 gangs aren't any worse than the gumba gangstas that run the dysfunction....

Just a little food for thought...

a friend of mine that I work with, went home to find that her son wasn't home...she called all his friends who told her that he went
to a 'SHS' football game on another schools campus--some 30-45min away with a female teacher in her car.....

-no permission slip
-no bus ride
-no call to the parent via the 'adults in charge'

guess what time he got home?---11pm

this person I work with is not well educated (from the SHS), very nice and compassionate and wouldn't hurt a flea.....

and....not just to put SHS on the spot,,,,let's share the wealth.....Schalmont High School also had a certain female teacher, who found
it to be her job to 'make men out of boys'.....I guess that's what we get when we hire farmers for teachers.......

The NYS school system/unions etc incestuous and closed shops-----YOU BET YOUR FREAKIN' a** IT IS......

For safer Sch’dy schools, clean up bad leadership

Re Aug. 28 article, “School stuck on ‘dangerous’ list”: Why would one suspect that the Schenectady School District would ever get off the most dangerous schools list, considering that the leadership has shown no respect for the citizens of Schenectady.
To fully support the alleged terrorist activities of one of their hand-picked employees, “the enforcer,” Steve Raucci — only reinforces the criminal behavior of the students. The absurd abuses of the Schenectady school board and superintendent set a poor example for the students to follow.
If Schenectady is interested in the general safety of its students, improving both behavior and achievement, then a thorough cleaning of the administration and school board is the first step. The latest report of abuse of the use of alcohol is just the latest example of the poor judgment and leadership abilities shown by a member of the school board. Where does it stop?
Corrupt and weak leadership will almost certainly leak down to the student body. The examples of misguided adult behavior shown by the superintendent and school board only reinforce the current level of fear and hopelessness in the Schenectady school system.
Citizens of Schenectady, it is up to you to take a stand if improvement will ever come.

I'm sure the Gazette had to pull this out of "Willie Nelson."  After all, speaking ill when you have nothing to do with the situation isn't allowed...unless you ARE the reporting party.

Up to 10 arrested
after football
game in Sch’dy

SCHENECTADY — As many as 10 people were arrested Friday night after a fight that followed the Schenectady-Albany football game, police said.
The fight began near Schenectady High School at about 9:30. An estimated 100 people were involved at one point. All city officers, as well as detectives, responded. Officers from Niskayuna, Rotterdam, Glenville, the sheriff’s department and state police were also called in, police spokesman Sgt. Eric Clifford said.
Between seven and 10 people were arrested. Exact numbers and charges were not available late Friday.
The fight itself appeared to die down quickly as officers got the crowd moving, according to scanner traffic. Paramedics were called to the police station for a man with an arm injury related to the incident.
One group of people was followed by officers down Ardsley Road toward Union Street. The group appeared peaceful as they neared Union Street.

Leave it to the Gazette to get the entire story before publishing...again.  Wouldn't want them to be a day late on a story...unless there's something that needed to be covered up.

"Between 7 and 10" no need to check the facts? Give it a ball park. Nobody reads it anyway.

The Gazetto did a great job of burying the lead. Photo on front page but no mention of 100 gang rioters that need 5 police agencies to quell.

I know B.Gage is gonna hammer me for this one...

The GE union used to run the city. In their absence, the teachers union and the police union have filled the void. Nothing will happen to the casino's just like nothing happens to the cops.

The school district is on the persistently dangerous list....and last night 5 police units had to be called in for a riot!
The graduation rate is, what, 52%?
Teen suicide is on the rise.
A teacher and board member husband, irresponsibly post pictures from a graduation party, with allegedly underaged drinkers.
The school board appoints a vacant seat with someone who came in dead last as voted by the sheople.
And as benny says....NUTHIN!

The cops are caught leaving the scene of accidents.
Stealing time.
Going against protection orders.
DWI's
.......and NUTHIN!

You do the math!

The GE union used to run the city?    Gee, they must have done a good job because Schenectady and it's people thrived.  The schools were good, the streets were safe.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
