OMG....it does look crappy!! Who owns this building now? And doesn't rotterdam have codes that should be enforced?
I agree with the senior housing/nursing home idea. A 'private' nursing home in rotterdam would be great!

I've thought for a long time that the building could be converted to senior apartments or a nursing home. It is close to required medical services (e.g., hospitals). Is there public transportation (i.e., bus line) available on Draper Ave?
If things follow suit in rotterdam....this building will be vacant for decades just like the others. But until then...mow the damn lawn!
Where is rotterdam's code enforcers????? We already know that rotterdam is a sh!thole, but let's not make it even worse!

At least the lawn use to be mowed! Who owns it and where are the code enforcers?

In addition to the broken windows and overgrown lawn, there are some trailers (snowmobile or similar) in the parking lot. At one point, there was a snow plow left there also. It seems as though the neighbors are using the parking lot as a place to store their junk. It's time for the Town to remove everything in the lot and let the neighbors come looking for it!
Isn't it quite obvious Bumble? If nothing is being done about it, it must be owned by the code enforcer or some friend, relative or acquaintance thereof .
Or, Some committee formed by another committee is forming another committee to appoint another committee to evaluate the need to set a specific height limit of the grass because it is somehow outside the scope of the limit set for residential areas. Upon the approval of the grass height limit committee, there will be a a 6 month rfp period whereby bids will be submitted for the contract to mow said premises. Probably won't see any progress on it until sometime in April 2030.
The following notice was posted in the Gazette in March 2010. I sent it to a friend who was interested because he lives near this site and it was still in my "sent" folder. It's great that the Town Code Enforcement Office issued this notice...but WTH have they done to follow-up? Right, right...forgot...this is Rotterdam. A Nice Place to Live.
