Regarding the July 17 political cartoon with “Brown” being wheeled outside to the Dumpster, please be aware that may be a humorous illustration to some who find satisfaction in the demise of another’s home life. To me, “Brown” is my husband — loving father of our two children, hard-working, loyal, kind, and right now absolutely devastated at the turn of events that has taken place regarding his position. He started at the bottom of the ranks, just like every other person employed by the Schenectady County Correctional Facility, as an officer. He worked his way up to sergeant, was voted president of the union for two terms, years later he was appointed an inspector. In January 2009 his inspector position was “eliminated” from the budget, and so the real story begins. Paul did serve as Conservative Party chairman for six years. During that time he made a lot of enemies; you see, when you don’t agree with the powers in charge, you’re basically tossed aside, no longer part of the crowd — Paul Brown turned in to Paul who? When I opened the paper July 17 to see that cartoon, it made me feel sad, sad that my 9-year-old was standing over my shoulder asking if that was supposed [to be] his dad in the garbage can. Yes, I said, but we know your dad is much stronger and smarter than people know, and in the end, the truth will all be told.
I don't know this Paul Brown. But it clearly appears that there is a history going on here. Is this just a political thing or is it 'justice'?
