City ranked as nation’s worst in wage changes
Matthew Daneman – Staff writer
Business – July 6, 2009 - 1:38pm

Last place. That’s where Rochester falls in a new ranking of wage changes between the last three months of 2008 and the first three months of 2009.

Done by the Brookings Institution, the ranking looked at the 100 largest metropolitan areas in the United States. Rochester ranked 100th in the results, with New York in general performing poorly: Syracuse was 99th, and Albany-Schenectady was 98th.

The survey looked at the percent change in average wages for those metro areas. For those 100 overall, the average change in wages was 0.4 percent.

The most growth was in the Phoenix area, followed by Tulsa.

Let's see Schenectady is in the top 100 worst cities in wage changes but on a positive note we're almost number 1 on the highest taxed county list and in a couple of more years we'll be number 1 in the nation, good job Schenectady.

I would have thought that Metroplex's Clintons Ditch, Katie O's and the ticket rippers at Bow Tie would have put Schenectady much higher on that list.

I'm sure Highbridge Development's earnings fairs much higher than the average Schenectadian.  Highbridge Development thanks you Metroplex, without you, they wouldn't be a viable business.
