Absolutely!!! H.Vell is weak and Dago is....well....who knows...no one ever even hears from her except just before an election. And in the last election, Dago just squeaked through. Littlefield is the front runner from what I see and hear. |

Good one. Is she still running? What about the other guy? Are they in the witness protection program? Know they got orders to not post and lay low but this is ridiculous. Early line: Bet the Brad Littlefield/Holly Vellano exacta. |

Of course they were instructed not to post here. Cause then they would really be asked the tough questions. They all set their own stage with an already prepared script. Barrie is an environmentalist. And we all know that environmentalists cause taxes to rise under the 'protection green label'. Not to mention that this country has issues that surpass ANY environmental issue. She may be a swell person, but it was clearly a weak endorsement. Littlefield should have gotten the endorsement. that was clearly a no brainer. |

time will tell, but if I was a betting man I would say h.vell has a better chance than dago. Unless dago wins by name recogniiton cause she don't do much. However, I'm not a particular fan of cross endorsing. When I saw my first vell/dago sign, I did one of these... |

Hello there, Mike Viscusi and I are definitely not in the witness protection program! We are both actively meeting folks and gathering support for our elections. I have also been busy supporting other candidates in the Republican party that are running in the primary on Tuesday. It's not just about me being elected, but the other members of the Republican party as well that were endorsed by the committee. Come meet Mike and I in Duanesburg tomorrow night at the ziti dinner. We would love to talk to you in person. Or stop in next Saturday evening at St. Gabriel's fall festival. I'll be cooking pizza dough! My father recently handed down to my husband and I a piece of my ancestral farm in rural Rotterdam. So my time has also been devoted to working on the farmland to establish a future homestead for my family, working on the historic zoning ordinance in Rotterdam, and, of course, working at the paying job for NYS. My philosophy has always been to keep busy, help others and be productive. Reading these blogs takes time and it didn't seem as productive as actually meeting the residents I would be representing. It's my understanding that many of you are one in the same, and use several names to liven up the discussions. Quite entertaining I might say! I applaud Kevin March and Brad Littlefield for using their real names. I may not always agree with how you think, but I respect you for having the courage of your convictions. I pay taxes on two properties in Rotterdam, Schenectady County. One is in Schalmont and one is in Mohonasen school district. Property taxes are a primary concern for me personally and I know many other residents. I am a conservative minded person when it comes to money as well as our environment. Money is green and I believe very much in using it wisely and sparingly. I am running my campaign like I believe government should be run. Frugally and cost-effective. Have a wonderful evening! Good morning,
I was asked yesterday on my Facebook account if there is going to be a debate. The answer is yes and that the date has not been finalized. I will post it once I know it's been confirmed.
I also want to applaud Joe Suhrada for his idea on consolidating the assessor function into a countywide office. We need to trim the budgets of all governmental offices and this is a great way to do that. The County highway garage has been working on City vehicles for awhile now. I personally haven't heard that this concept isn't working out. Have any of you?
I'm not in favor of layoffs whether in the public nor private sector because neither spurs the economy. However, downsizing through attrition and combining like functions such as assessments are sensible approaches to cost saving measures. Not only does it then require less higher paid managerial positions, but it will also save office space and equipment.
I understand from the Rotterdam Assessor he assesses properties from aerial photographs. He doesn't actually go out and look at individual properties. If that it the practice throughout the county, then consolidation of these functions is quite approrpriate. |

The Rotterdam Assesor assesses properties by licking his finger and sticking in up into the wind. |

There will be no debate. Felipe had this right {unlike the Supervisor's race}. DAG/HOLLY in a blowout. Those that win the CONS line rule. The rest is hot air. |

I think there should be a debate. And it should be by the League of womens voters only. It shouldn't matter who thinks who is going to win. The electorate should have the opportunity to actually 'hear' what and how these candidates plan to accomplish their ideals. The days of 'assuming' who is going to win, thus stifling any serious debate, should not be the norm. We ALL need to hear from ALL of them. IMHO |
