ROTTERDAM -- A registered sex offender was charged with raping a 14-year-old girl earlier this week. Kyle Myers of Rotterdam remains jailed, charged with second-degree rape.
Sgt. Dan Ryan responded Wednesday to the Subway on Broadway for a call of a suspicious group of kids behind the eatery. A 14-year-old girl told him she had just been sexually assaulted.
Police say Myers, 25, fled before Ryan arrived but was nabbed after police interviewed the girl. Myers, a Level 2 sex offender, was arraigned in Town Court and sent to the Schenectady County Jail on $30,000 bail. He is scheduled for another court appearance on the matter Monday.
Also this week, a Schenectady teenager and an accomplice were charged with burglary for their alleged roles in two break-ins. Jethro James, 16, was charged with two counts of felony burglary and one count of criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor.
Police are not releasing the name of the other juvenile suspect because of his age. He faces two counts of felony burglary in Family Court...............>>>>................>>>>............http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=812000
