Is he a relative? "More mustard than most"-good than she can deal with the hot dog in Town Hall. Eunice will win in a landslide-despite stunad letters like this one.

The person is a RELATIVE!

Well that explains it. She should tell her relatives to lay low, cause it's making eunie look foolish.

Bumble and Mary ~ Really?  This woman has served her community with dignity and respect.  Reality is that Tommasone tried to force her out, he's a bully.  But Eunice wasn't having any of it and fought back, even though she probably would have retired ~ if not for Steve.

Here's the sad part ~ this is like Steve spitting on the grave of Eunices brother who actually gave two sh_ _s about Tommasone.  Ol' Bill would have been ashamed of the way Tommasone has turned out!

First, we should ALL serve our community, our jobs and our family and friends with dignity and respect. No big whoop there.
Second, she was PAID for this service.
Third, it is a CLERK POSITION. Not a decision making position.

Like I have said before....I have NEVER voted for ANYONE in this position. I think that is nonsense!

Long-time Rotterdam clerk has a challenge
Esposito, 83, relishes job, while Fiorillo hopes to modernize office

By PAUL NELSON, Staff writer
First published in print: Friday, September 11, 2009

ROTTERDAM -- In May 2005, when Lynn Fiorillo went to work in the supervisor's office, one of the first people in Town Hall to welcome her was longtime clerk Eunice Esposito.

Some years later, when Fiorillo heard Esposito, 83, might be retiring, Fiorillo went to Esposito to let her know she was interested in being clerk.

Despite letting Fiorillo, 50, know she planned to seek an 11th four-year-term, Esposito encouraged her to run anyway.

The clerk's race is among one of the more closely watched ones in this suburban town where several primary contests will play out Tuesday.

Fiorillo has been endorsed by the Republican, Conservative and Independence parties but will compete in the primary for the Working Families line.

Esposito, who has helped countless people with everything from notary to routine municipal business to performing marriages, says she is having too much fun to retire.

"This was never a job because I like what I do and I love to serve the residents of Rotterdam," she said. She said she treats everyone who comes to the clerk's counter "like family."

Fiorillo lauded the four decades of service Esposito has given to Rotterdam but believes it's time for a change.

"The office needs to be updated and I don't mean with furniture," she said, adding she would computerize records, extend office hours and go off-site to meet with residents in the different sections of the town. The married mother of two believes her 28 years in the banking industry as a teller and later as a manager equipped her to serve the people in her hometown.

"In addition to getting the quality of service they get now, residents would be able to go online and get what they need," he said. "I'm a very friendly and outgoing person that can relate to a lot of people because I have a lot of life experiences. The proof is in the pudding and if you know what you've got, why would you take a chance on the unknown?"

Esposito said she enjoys helping people, many of whom have become accustomed to her face behind the counter on the second floor.

"God will tell me when it's time to quit," she said. "We'll have the people decide if I've been here too long and if they need a change."

Other Rotterdam primaries include races for supervisor, town board and justice. Other Schenectady County races are for legislature seats, a Duanesburg justice and a Working Families primary for sheriff...................>>>>.......................>>>>...........................http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=840638&category=SCHENECTADY

Based on age, it’s time for Eunice Esposito to go

Gary Guido’s politically motivated Sept. 6 letter starts the bout for Rotterdam’s elections. Having no party affi liations, I take no sides, but would like to see documentation offered when stating a taxpayers’ saving of “hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
As one who is a few years older than our 80-plus town clerk [Eunice Esposito], I object to Guido using her plight as an excuse for his tirade. I am sure she has served us well, as we have shown in keeping her in office long past her retirement — for which she collects payment in addition to her salary.
We are living now in a computer age, and need leaders and workers who grew up with daily use and well-developed skills. Better for those of us past retirement age to find a volunteer project that suits our skills and talents.
Years ago, I went from electric typewriter to a word processor, then took a stab at a computer but found my eyes and finger dexterity failed the challenge. But I can still enjoy reading and phoning, visiting and writing letters.

You can't lump everyone who is becoming a seasoned citizen into one category as getting too old to do their job. Everyone is different and some seniors have a sharper mind than some of their younger associates and a plus for seniors is they come to work everyday as most are dependable and have a good work ethic. Eunice will retire when she can no longer due her job or her health fails but until then let her enjoy her life.

I think that Ms. Schmid is implying that the only reason the town clerks office has not become computerized is because of Eunice. That perhaps Eunice can't use a computer. Now IF that is the case, and we don't know for sure if it is, computers should have been brought in anyways. Just like any other job. When a company or business or even public jobs, requires an upgrade, they just do it. It's part of the job.

There are many people, both in the public and private sector, including myself, that has been employed at a company that is changing phone systems, upgrading software, changing rules, changing how things are done. We are in a very fast competitive society where things are changing daily.

If Forillo can do it....then so should Eunice. And perhaps she can if given the chance. Who know, she just might run circles around Forillo!!

This isn't the 50's any more AND IT IS A CLERKS POSITION!
