Puddycat ~ there you go again, you make great points then lose all credibility.  Yes, you CAN NOT look any further than the town board for increases in the town levy.  Simple, the buck stops with them.  GB ~ makes a good point that the actual increases in the levy for the town were not that bad over the last three years.

For DelGallo/McGarry it's simple;  if left to his own accord, Tommasone (the once enrolled Dem who couldn't get their endorsement) will revert to his non-election year antics and propose tentative budgets in the double digits.  As I said, and Mr. Lucia had to scream at Tommasone and the board to get them to react.  Even then Tommasone was sticking to his guns that there was no way the budget could be reduced and that near zero was impossible.  Clearly Tommasone is a liar.  Now, an election year promise ~ Tommasone will NOT submit a double digit tentative budget proposal.  Yep, you heard it hear first!  Why?  Because nothing is more important to Steve Ego than getting re-elected.

I predict that Tommasone will finish last of the three candidates for Town Supervisor in the Conservative Party Primary.  And, if he does not win the
Conservative Party endorsement, his tenure is over.  He will not win the General Election on November 3rd.

Agreed LnJ  Mertz is also toast if he doesnt survive the Primary.  Both of these tax and spend hacks just dont get it.  Rotterdamians will unite and send Stevie Ego, JoJoe,Stan the Man packing.  Clean sweep on the horizon.  The stench from the barn called town hall will be aired out come November

Mr. DelGallo and the business community ~ WOW!

You're show of campaigning in my neighborhood last night was very impressive!  From what I understand, this was going on all over town ~ Tommasone is toast.

Not sure I am buying the message, but the T-Shirts, volunteers and campaign brochures were fairly impressive.

The business community needs to get it together.......COMP PLAN,,,,MAKE IT NICE,,,,NOT CHEAP

You dont need to be a supervisor to do that.......

BTW,,,,,keep the government away.....dont let them 'own you'.....

the public is sooooo fickle.....it's like the National Healthcare issue,,,,,folks only care about the $$------

$$ is just a veil.....the TRUTH is behind it,,,,we all need to pull back the veil......

We saw them around also. The general thoughts was that it is way too early for this. I had some dropped off too and we are blanks.
Now, IMHO, they may look impressive, but after reading their literature, they are clearly  tax and spend and government program progressives. Not for me!
They appear to be campaigning on exactly what the people are complaining and concerned about.

And as a little side note here........it was really strange to see vellano on this line up! Never thought she was THAT liberal! IMHO

Right LAJ--The CONS primary will be (as usual) the most important battle. When Brian McGarry wins CONS supervisor--- it's all over. He will have 2 lines. CONS+NO NEW TAX PARTY

Same for the Legislative Race. Whatever two take that line will take seats in January.

Bumble ~ I have to disagree.  This shows that they are organized and motivated.  For most of their ticket they will be appealing to unions (PBA) and future unions (REMS), not a bad strategy when you have the future Sheriff on your ticket.  Twenty percent of the town will support this platform, if they gain another eleven percent they win.  Republicans will remain split right into the general election and with the conservative faction introducing a new "no new tax" line, you'll see both republican/conservative groups become vunerable to the dems.  Whoever the architect is behind the dem organization is brilliant ~ that's all I have to say.

As far as Vellano, she's a Conservative and will pull alot of republicans to their ticket.  I am starting to agree more and more with PDQ and Puddycat, republicans are losing ground really really fast.

I disagree with you in that most people could give a hoot about who knows who, how much money a party has or what groups can be attracted. People are beginning to smarten up and are looking for 'who' can do the best job in reducing taxes and cutting spending.

Sorry but the dems are still way way to liberal for me. They are still tax and spend. I don't call that 'brilliant' by any stretch of the imagination. So it only leaves McGarry!
