SCHENECTADY - A man was found shot to death outside the Aquarius Club on State Street early this morning.
Police were called to the restaurant after a report of gunshots at 2:36 a.m. They found one man shot in the parking lot and a second victim a couple of blocks away.
One victim, taken to Ellis Hospital, died at 3:06 a.m., police said. The other victim was taken to Albany Medical Center and his status is not known, police said.
The investigation is ongoing. More details are expected to be available later today.
On Friday night, Schenectady police were busy investigating shots fired, a fight and a man with a shotgun on Gillespie Street.
Police were called out at just after 11 p.m. for a report of gunfire and yelling near the intersection of Union and Gillespie streets.
A dispatcher said there appeared to be no gunshot victims and police were looking at a fight in front of 1050 Gillespie. They found a silver handgun in an upstairs apartment.
A bullet hole was found in a front door at a residence a couple doors away on the street.
Police were looking for an older man with no lower teeth and wearing dark clothing who was seen running from the area with a pump shotgun.
