I’m writing you concerning the great insensitivity I’ve been subjected to by the Democratic Party. I was a committee person for many years. I helped some of the very politicians in office get elected, and now I’m treated with contempt, condescending attitudes and very unprofessional staff. How can the Democrats remain in power with this kind of uncaring tactics against the people who voted them in offi ce? No intelligent, logical help is ever given, nothing that’s suggested ever works out. The letters they write on your behalf [regarding a problem with a social services agency] never amount to any change in your circumstance for the positive, yet they act as if you have been helped. And [they] get annoyed and angry when you come back to say your problem still exists because no effort has been made to help you. I’ve been writing every politician in the state and none have any power, so they say, to change any wrong done to a constituent. There’s something very wrong with the system. Why should we vote? What are we voting for?
So, let me understand this. You helped people get elected, then asked for favors which didn't get done (help with social services) - and now you're whining when they really don't help? I'm sorry, but it looks like there were other motives behind your help - and now it looks like you're reaping what you've sown.
There are no hand outs. Voting for a democrat (or a republican) won't get you further in this world. They'll promise you the world - they always do, but never deliver. Wake up, put your big girl panties on and deal with it.
I agree MT. This girl says she helped them all get into office and now won't listen to her suggestions. May I suggest to her, that if she wants change....run for office herself.
We have all at one time or another, campaigned and voted for someone, only to come to regret it later. I wonder if she will change her party affiliation now?

If the Mayor won't return Ms. Savage's 8 phone calls-you think he will return yours? LOL! County Sheeple-keep voting straight Kratz and expecting different results! How's it feel on the end of those strings?
Perhaps she doesn't get a response because everyone knows she's got a "gimme" attitude. An entitlement attitude. My brother is here telling me, she's in Schenectady city. She once whined that the mayor in Schenectady wouldn't let her get a house on State St (property was on a plot good for commercial development).
She once was at a council meeting whining something about needing air conditioning in her apartment, but she doesn't live in any of the projects.
She also apparently questioned what the Guyanese are doing that they can afford to buy houses in Schenectady and fix them, he says alluding to maybe they are getting money from drugs. He says the Guyanese would sell their homes down around the city for like $200,000 and could buy two houses here for $50,000 each, that was like 10 yrs ago, and then they still had money to fix up the houses too, totally legit. She doesn't have the financial ability to buy a house, so she'd get this attitude that it's racism when she couldn't buy a house, or probably bid one those tax delinquent ones that may have required proof of plans for fixing up the houses and the financial ability to do so.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
It boils down to one word...ENTITLEMENT! Everyone thinks they are entitled to something that someone else has. And sadly, that is just what the government has created!!
