New member of town board busy quickly — Justin Mason
ROTTERDAM — Stan Marchinkowski didn’t have it easy during his first Town Board meeting. First, he had to borrow the town attorney’s microphone because his seat on the board lacked one after being vacant for nearly two months. Then he had to decide whether to vote on a contentious rezoning resolution that caused an uncommon split among the other four Republicans on the board. But the newest town official didn’t seem overwhelmed by his first day. “We have to look forward and down the line,” he said after last Wednesday’s meeting. “I do have a vested interest in Rotterdam and I’m going to be here.” Marchinkowski will serve out the year on the board, but will need to run for the remainder of John Silva’s term in November. Silva, the board’s lone Democrat, resigned in January with three years remaining on his term. In leaving office, Silva cited the demands of his job as a health care consultant. Busy doing what? Searching for a microphone? It was reported in this forum that Marchinkowski abstained in the vote pertaining to the rezoning. I'm surprised that Justin was duped into writing this "puff piece", an obvious campaign advertisement.
The public will wait to see how Marchinkowski votes on issues that come before the board before deciding on whether or not to support his election to the seat in November. How will he vote on the creation of the ambulance tax district?
Yes this was a 'puff piece'. To call this busy is just too funny. But hey...gotta report 'something', right? And yes, we will see his performance and make that final decision in November.

This is what passes for good reporting at the Gazetto? How low can one set the bar? A total puff piece that fails to state the fact that he abstained. If he has zoning experience from the ZBA than use it. On his first at bat, he whiffed. Just what we need another politician firmly on both sides of the issues.
i think that you mean caba dost somebody that is not right in the head i thougt you are italiano, no? salvatore pretend but he is no good italiano he is probably mr gardner or ms savage or mrquail whoare against the mayor i am starting to see his act

Performance?lol-Best comic portayal of a politician with Zoning expertise? The worst example of reporting since the Metrograft puff pieces.
