if they don't indict a whole boatload of political leaders who were behind him, it would be as if they held the Nuremburg trials (that is in Germany for those of you in the cheering section at town hall) and only tried the privates and corporals who guarded the death camps. But in Schenectady County, every powerful official and organization is immune when they have the right "connections."

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

I agree with you GB that there are others, who are likely politically connected, with complicity in these crimes.

Raucci was convicted of conspiracy.  By definition, conspiracy must be by two or more persons.  Yet, there are
no others charged with criminal acts?

con·spir·a·cy   /kənˈspɪrəsi/  Show Spelled[kuhn-spir-uh-see]  Show IPA
–noun,plural-cies.
1.the act of conspiring.
2.an evil, unlawful, treacherous, or surreptitious plan formulated in secret by two or more persons; plot.
3.a combination of persons for a secret, unlawful, or evil purpose: He joined the conspiracy to overthrow the government.
4.Law. an agreement by two or more persons to commit a crime, fraud, or other wrongful act.
5.any concurrence in action; combination in bringing about a given result.

And, where are the charges against Superintendent Ely?  I understand that it was disclosed during testimony that
Ely told Raucci of an impending criminal investigation and that they discussed how to "head it off".  At a minimum,
Ely should be charged with obstruction of justice.

obstruction of justice
n.  The criminal offense, under common law and according to the statutes of many jurisdictions, of obstructing the
administration and due process of law
.

It was also reported in coverage of the trial that Raucci committed these acts of intimidation on behalf of himself and
friends and coworkers.  Where these beneficiaries aware and involved in the planning and execution of these acts?

And finally, now that the trial has ended and a verdict was reached, will the media and the public be provided insight
and access to the report that was developed at taxpayer expense?  This report should be public record regardless of
if it contains incriminating information about others on the school board, in the school administration, in the CSEA union,
or in elected office.  I implore the investigative reporters in our media market to pursue this story.  I suspect that, like
a glacier, there is much more that lies beneath the surface.

I also call on New York State Attorney General Cuomo review the report, the results of the investigation, and the
verdict to ensure that justice was served.  In fact, I urge each of you to send a letter or an e-mail to the AG, requesting
that he become involved in one of the most significant criminal trials (including the highest charge of terrorism) that has
occurred during his term in office.  He has been conspicuously absent.  I will be writing my letter today.

Were you born last night boomer? Give me a break. All the rest are politically connected and are off the hook? What does this say about the criminal justice system in our county. DeSorbo? Ely? Donahoe? And the rest. I still believe many more are involved as well as payments being made to him for his acts. IMHO

If ely never told ND that a terrorist occupied an office in her building, for years, then where is her public outrage against ely for allowing her to put 'her kids' in danger?

I find it very hard to believe that she knew nuthin. She has her own track record! Who took lessons from who?

You got it BT. This clown operated all these years right under her nose and she knew nothing. Either she knew exactly what was going on and kept her mouth shut or she was too oblivious as to what was happening. Either way it says alot about her and her administrative skills. No public outrage because she is hoping this ends. Staying quiet as to not stir the pot further. SHE KNEW EVERYTHING! IMHO

If an investigative reporter blew the lid off this explosive story (sorry, I couldn't resist) and it led to the indictment of others
in government and/or organized crime, he or she would be a Pulitzer prize nominee.  It would propel a small town reporter to
the big time.

Too bad that Fred Dicker is focused primarly on State Government.  This would be something that a real journalist like him
would take on.  Perhaps Kristen Moore?

Look Basil--I think he was a nut job.  Ely should never have informed him of what was coming down the pike.  Who knew why folks did what they did--maybe out of fear.  I don't believe this is a political issue.  It revolves around the school system and the the school bored.  Brisport should have already resigned and Ely is never working in education again.  What politicos have you tapped as complicit?

If he was a "nut job" then they should have used the insanity defense. The DA stood on the steps of the courthouse and said there was not enough to prosecute Elys? Moe Greenleaf told Elys and Elys told The Mad Bomber of the police investigation. Unbelievable. They all knew-they all looked the other way-they all must be dragged to justice.

FOF is right about the lack of investigative reporting but Fred Dicker was talking about this case Friday. Brad is correct plenty more for the AG or FBI to sink their teeth into. Where is the State Education Department? Do they ever get involved in a dysfunctional district?

Thank you Gazetto, Maxine Brisport and Jiffy Jeffy! The Billings, MT school board read your letters and decided not to proceed with Super Elys. What are you thinking about? Now the city sheeple are on the hook for the full salary until June 2011.

Some city sheeple expect the same dolts on the horrible Schenectady school bored that extended Super Elys contract to fire him? Don't you realize you need a super majority (5-1) to do that? Nothing changes and the students and taxpayers keep suffering.

Carney was on WROW the other morning. He said that Ely didn't commit a crime since ely didn't know exactly what raucci was being investigated or wired for.  I spit my coffee out on that one. So I guess ely didn't want to find out either, huh? I mean hell....didn't he once think that perhaps he should have found out what raucci was being investigated for since there were children at risk here?

That's what I mean....Ely knew, the CSEA knew, ND knew, JDisarbo knew and so did a ton of others. Carney said that he will not close the book on this case, but said he is confident that there will be no other new evidence to investigate.

Carney is bending over backwards not to pursue the school co-conspirators. Only in Schenectady can there be a criminal conspiracy of one. The Attorney General or FBI must come in and finish the investigation. This is not sitting well with the County sheeple.

Benny, you're asking the fox to watch the hen house. Although I agree with you, what exactly do you think cuomo would do? Blow the entire corrupt school district and the liberal socialist empire wide open. Remember that suzie also has a state job and I 'think' her hubby is a lobbyist.

And the FBI?.....what.....blow the entire socialist, good old boys 'cop club' wide open? I don't think so.

We want change? The only shot we have is to vote all of our dem state reps out of office!! It's time to change the guards and level the playing field.

Schenectady board president: Time to release Raucci report
First published in print: Monday, April 12, 2010

SCHENECTADY -- City Board of Education President Maxine Brisport said she's calling for the district's internal report concerning convicted arsonist and former facilities supervisor Steven Raucci to be released after the district fought in state Supreme Court to keep its contents hidden.

The school board commissioned a human resources director at a North Country BOCES last year to interview employees and review internal e-mails to see if Raucci had subjected workers to an environment of harassment and intimidation.
When the report was completed in June 2009, the district would not release its contents. It subsequently did after an advisory opinion was issued from the state's Committee On Open Government, but most of its pages were blacked out.............>>>>..................>>>>...............Read more: http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=920674&category=SCHENECTADY#ixzz0ksy03nFG

Transparency effort by school board fails

BY KATHLEEN MOORE Gazette Reporter

A move for transparency came close to winning at Wednesday’s Board of Education meeting, but failed for lack of two board members’ support.
Board member Gary Farkas insisted on a public vote on whether to release the Risotto Report, an internal review commissioned by the board to investigate allegations of employee intimidation committed by former employee Steven Raucci. Raucci has been convicted of placing bombs on employees’ property to intimidate them.
The board originally promised to make the report public, but the investigator promised secrecy to her interview subjects in an effort to get them to talk.
The board then reviewed the report and refused to release it. But Farkas said there’s no longer any point in keeping it secret. “It’s time. There’s nothing in it that wasn’t in the trial,” he said. “It’s time people saw what we saw.” Board member Jeff Janiszewski agreed, saying only a few items in the report would have to remain secret. “We can be more forthcoming than we have been so far,” he said.
Farkas also implied that nothing in the report would indicate Superintendent Eric Ely should be fired.
“No one has come to the board with any evidence [against Ely],” he said in response to public calls for Ely to be fired. “Until some evidence is in front of me, I cannot act on that.”
Board member Diane Herrmann proposed what appeared to be a resolution to begin the process to fire Ely. That failed for lack of one board member’s support.
She wanted to hire an attorney to advise the board on “particular matters relating to personnel.” ...................>>>>....................>>>>.............http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01201&AppName=1
