Rotterdam man arrested on child porn charges
ROTTERDAM — A 37-year-old Rotterdam man has been arrested on child pornography charges. The State Police Computer Crimes Unit received information that Raymond M. Stone of Saint Anna Drive was involved with child pornography. Officers executed a search warrant at Stone’s residence and seized his computers, according to a press release. Stone was charged Thursday with two felonies of possession of sexual performance material by a child and promotion of sexual performance material by a child. He was arraigned in Rotterdam Town Court and remanded to the Schenectady County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $15,000 bond. He has since posted bail. State police are continuing the investigation with the help of the Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office. Schenectady County District Attorney Robert Carney said State Police have the ability to do Internet monitoring and were tracking Stone as he disseminated pornographic images over the Web. Carney did not know exactly what type of images they were. “I don’t think we have any indication that there are victims locally.”

First of all Sal, we are NOT Jesus. But Jesus did say that we must follow Him AND the law of the land. Second, there ARE consequences for our behavior. When we offend....we offend both God and humans (society). And there are consequences for both. And for an adult enjoying watching inocent, probably abducted children forced into preforming sexual acts in front of a camera, deserves to be put behind bars like all other bottom feeders. |

Judge recommends shock program SCHENECTADY — A 38-yearold Rotterdam man was sentenced this morning to state prison with a recommendation for a shorter sentence in an intensive shock program after he admitting to possessing child pornography. Raymond M. Stone, of Saint Anna Drive, pleaded guilty earlier to possession of a sexual performance by a child, a felony. In return for his plea, Stone agreed to a sentence of 16 months to four years in state prison. He was arrested in February by the state police Computer Crimes Unit after authorities received information that Stone was involved with child pornography and they seized his computers. Stone was not accused of making the images, but possessing them. At his sentencing this morning, Stone said little. His attorney, Paul Callahan, asked Schenectady County Court Judge Karen Drago whether she would recommend a shorter, intensive 6-month sentence in a shock program. Drago noted that in a pre-sentence interview the Probation Department Stone was “extremely remorseful.” The question was, she said, how Stone would get the services and counseling he needs. She declined to mandate the shorter program, but strongly recommended that Stone be considered.
