Hoping that White's do right, is implying that whites are currently doing wrong, in terms of social injustices. If Pat Robertson said he hopes blacks stop smoking crack, implying blacks smoke crack, at a presidential invocation, I'm pretty sure it would be met with extreme outrage.

This was discussed on national news after the good Rev Joe made those remarks and some feel it was racist and some feel that it wasn't all that bad. But you're right Bumble if it were said by a white Rev there would be some backlash.

Really???????? It's pretty divisive when you name individual races on a day when Obama is using rhetoric of unity. Why couldn't ALL Americans embrace what is right? The choice of words used when talking about the minority groups were negative connotations of overcoming oppression. When Rev. Lowery speaks about the White Man, he uses words to make the White Man the oppressor. " The Red Man getting ahead man", "the Yellow can Mellow", "the Brown Man can stick around man", "when Black will not ask to get back", and of course lets not forget "White will embrace what's right.
In his prayer, Rev. Lowery is praying that in the joy of this new beginning(Obama as new president), he asks for the Lords help, working toward that day where minorities can be free of White America's oppressive ways. Because what Rev. Lowery is truly saying is, that currently the Red Man(Native Americans) can't get ahead, the Yellow can't relax and lives in fear, the Brown are getting kicked out, Blacks are asked to get back(what ever that means) and with Gods help, Whites will stop doing WRONG.

Of course he was. This speech was probably written by Rev Wright himself. People voted for this man BECAUSE he was black, not for what he can do. Anyone could have run with the promise of "change" and win ... but Obama rallied the races and pulled it off. It's been about "race" since day one.
I failed to pick up on such an obscure musical reference in the Benediction. How did I not make that connection? Seeing how Bill Broonzy died in 1958, 3 years before Obama was even born. So obvious.
Referencing a blues artist who died before the civil rights movement of the 60's doesn't seem to fit Obama's rhetoric of CHANGE and HOPE. Nothing says change, like rehashing racial wounds of the past with racially loaded song lyrics from 50 years ago.
I'm sure you and 98% of the people listening to Lowery's words, didn't know he was reciting the race laden lyrics of Bill Broonzy. These are obviously just talking points being released by the Obama Administration or DNC for damage control purposes.

maybe he can sing some of those songs from Arlo Guthrie too, and maybe the ones from 1939 that are pro Nazi (since the reds were in bed with Hitler for a bit before he launched the attack on Russia) They might be relevant too since the people are gettung the facist boot in the butt from Bush these years.
