Gone and going Marv Cermak
McDonald's is the latest of various chain operations closing down outlets at Rotterdam Square. The restaurant, emptied out last week, is the lone vacancy in the food court.
Also at the mall, Limited Too, a woman's apparel shop, is holding a close-out sale. Signs state the store will close soon and urge shoppers to patronize the chain's outlets at Colonie Center and Crossgates.
KB Toys is also holding a closing sale. The national chain is going out of business. Last year, the mall lost two jewelry shops — Zales and Belden's — and Fashions of India and Pacific Sunwear. http://timesunion.com/AspStori...../2009&TextPage=2

Where's the Metroplex when you need them? Soon, Rotterdam Square will look like Curry Road Shopping Plaza, if this keeps up. |

This is happening at malls across the country. Too much retail space. Metrograft? lol- they are still trying to open another gin mill on the 400 Block of State Street. It displaced a Dollar Store and still has not opened despite over $3 Million in your sales tax dollars. Nobody says nuthin. When is someone other than Joe Suhrada going to stand up and demand answers? Take another look at St James Square in Nisky-since Metrograft got involved even more tenants have pulled out. More nuthin-more manure on mushrooms. |

The economy is bad everywhere. But why is it that we don't hear of these business closures in Saratoga? Clifton Park? I believe that our little county does not have the same purchasing power as other areas do. We not only have the purchasing power, we are taxed to death. Not to mention that we are being lead by our local government that boasts of government handout programs.
I think it is time to leave this county....really!!!! |

There's only so much crap from Sri Lanka one can buy....I sure as hell cant afford American made products......
