I agree but there is no fire in this fight....the next generation could really give a crap.....they use their parents credit cards, live in their parents homes,
eat their parents food, have their parents pay for their cell phones, use an atm card without reguard to the 'left over balance' etc.......

this is beating a dead horse.....think World Wide Web........this is like a 1/2 penny scheme for all states and nations.....digital techology will make sure
this happens and those up above will make sure to use it and exploit to it's fullest potential.....the nation with the most hands in the pot wins....

new debates, new podiums, new ideas,

?new ethics--yeah, I doubt that..........there will be a divide greater than a division of wealth.....it will be a chasm of access.......who is at the helm
of this ship????

Enter stage center:    RealID..........

Legislator croons for anti-tax campaign
Web site warble highlights ‘iTax’ plan

BY MICHAEL LAMENDOLA Gazette Reporter

State Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco says “it’s up to you, New York, New York” to stop Gov. David Paterson’s proposed tax on downloadable music.
Tedisco, R-Schenectady, on Monday launched a Web site, http://www.stoptheitax.com, to oppose the tax. The Republican Assembly Campaign Committee is paying for the site and Tedisco is using it to raise money for his conference.
Tedisco’s Web site features him with earphones listening, and singing off key, to the classic Frank Sinatra song, “New York, New York.”
In a brief video, Tedisco says the “iTax” is the “wrong thing to do to the economy and to the people of New York.”
Paterson is proposing an 8 percent tax on downloads of music, movies and other Internet entertainment. The package of taxes, included in his proposed 2009-2010 budget, are to eliminate what he projects will be $51.1 billion in deficits over the next four years.
Tedisco spokesman Joshua Fitzpatrick said the Web site is “a humorous take on a very serious issue.” He said the cost to run the Web site is “less than 1 percent of Ed Kosiur’s salary,” or $800.
Kosiur earns $80,000 per year as special assistant to the commissioner of the Schenectady County Department of Social Services. Kosiur, a Democrat, is a former county legislator who tried unsuccessfully for the open seat in the 105th Assembly District. He received the county job after losing decisively to George Amedore Jr., a Republican hand picked by Tedisco.
Fitzpatrick said Assembly Republicans estimate Paterson’s proposed taxes will cost an average family of four in New York approximately $3,875 annually. “Many of these taxes are going to be applicable, because they cover a broad spectrum,” he said.
The costs, for example, will be an extra $73 per family under the expanded bottle bill; $130 extra in motor vehicle fees; $88 extra in cable and satellite sales taxes; $122 extra in soda and beverage sales taxes, Fitzpatrick said. “The leader and the conference feel strongly about them. They will make things worse.”
Tedisco in November sent Paterson a letter outlining proposals to close the budget shortfall. They including eliminating member items, collecting sales taxes on .......................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....amp;EntityId=Ar01003

Although I give Mr.Tedisco an E for effort......this is no different than the "keep the sex offenders out of my backyard" via Kosiur.......

Here's the deal folks.....The Brave New World is being born and the birth pains are getting stronger and closer together.......we need an epidural or
how about just some bathtub gin to get by.......

it's not the Ipod issue but the changing world......and the control of this 'new system' is up for grabs......power power power........
