I don't know any of these people but I was at my sister in laws mothers house and they seemed to have good things to say about Tim Bradt. Whats up with the nudist thing?? Ok, let me rephrase......Is Mr. Bradt a nudist?? Why is the name Constatine so familiar to me?? Hate to be a pain, but I don't know these guys.....thinking of that, any women for the position come to mind? |

Oh, the letter writer said that, is there a reason NOT to believe her? I always wondered if Mr. Bradt was a part time private dick. Does any one if he was? Maybe it is just a rumor. He used to eat at MalloSSis with the the capo of the famiglia himself and I always thought they used him for private dick service. Maybe I am wrong. Do you think he practices nudism too? I heard that around town, kind of cute, isn't it?

I would like to wear a badge.......do I get to carry a BIG gun?......I dont know any of these folks except in 'the news'(what's that say for most voters) No one really cares ,if they go through life avoiding the police, like one should......the only folks voting will be those who rub elbows, are related, or will have one of them as their boss......JMHO tough job cleaning up trash.....I dont think I would be cut out for it.......but it could be a stress reliever...... |

I don't think there should be a Sheriffs dept actually. And if we must, than they should be able to cut some jobs and save a few bucks. Cause Rotterdam, Nisky and Scotia Glenville have their own police force. And good ones at that.
So I could really care less who heads the sheriffs dept. I only care that I am paying for them and don't need them. |

Schenectady County sheriff hopeful changes party affiliation January 2, 2009 Updated 1:25 p.m. By Michael Lamendola (Contact) Gazette Reporter
SCHENECTADY — Thomas P. Constantine changed his party enrollment to Democrat this week to boost his chances of succeeding longtime Schenectady County Sheriff Harry Buffardi.
Democratic Gov. David Paterson will make the appointment to succeed Buffardi and is expected to seriously consider a recommendation for the post made by local Democrats, who control the Schenectady County Legislature, City Council and other top countywide offices.
Buffardi, a Democrat, took a full-time job as assistant professor at Schenectady County Community College. He has not set a date for his resignation but is expected to begin teaching classes in criminal justice Jan. 12. He has taught criminal justice part time at the college for 14 years.
Constantine, 46, said today he changed his enrollment from Republican after Democratic Party leaders showed interest in his bid to succeed Buffardi.
“There was some interest from elected officials. I did it more out of loyalty based to them, based on their interest to me,” Constantine said.
He filed his enrollment change Tuesday with the Schenectady County Board of Elections. It does not take effect until after the November general election.
Schenectady County Democratic Committee Chairman Brian Quail said many party leaders support Constantine for the sheriff’s position. Whoever is selected for the position will have to run for election to a full four-year term either in November or in November 2010, depending on when Buffardi resigns.
Buffardi said he will file retirement paperwork with the state Tuesday and will have a better idea then when he can step down.
“It takes a minimum of 30 days to process the retirement papers and a maximum of 60 days,” he said.
Buffardi said Undersheriff Gordon Pollard can serve as acting sheriff until Paterson names a replacement, so Buffardi can conceivably teach full-time and remain sheriff.
Quail said the process to vet a candidate for sheriff will accelerate once Buffardi files his paperwork.
“Things will begin after that. We will have a process and we will move forward, but we are not prejudging the process,” he said.
Quail said Constantine is a good candidate for sheriff.
“He has a strong personal ethic and ................................http://dailygazette.com/news/2009/jan/02/0102_constantine/
