Missouri-based Hussmann Corp., which makes many of the refrigeration units found in supermarkets, is closing its plant in Gloversville by mid-2009 and shifting the production to Mexico.
The closing will cost 90 people their jobs, according to the Gloversville Leader-Herald. In a release, the company’s local manager said his plant was operating at only 40 percent of equipment capacity and 20 percent of assembly capacity.
Hussmann is a unit of Ingersoll Rand.
Work will be moved to an existing plant in Monterrey, Mexico.
