I got a confirmation letter in the mail today from Mr Amedore's office stating that my E-mail was received and a copy of it was forwarded to the Comptrollers Office. I also received a copy of a letter that was sent to the Comptrollers Office from Mr Amedore requesting an update concerning the Metroplex Audit as there are a number of constituents in his district who are requesting the results of the Metroplex Audit. Mr Amedore also states that he will keep us informed as soon as any information on this matter is forwarded to him. |

I don't blame you Bumble, but I'm trying to put a little pressure on the Comptrollers Office to release the information by getting our representative to make a formal request for the information. If other people will do the same maybe something will be released quicker. |

Day 313: One report released yesterday. $28.4M in Medicaid payments to those enrolled in another state's program. Does this constitute fraud? If so, will the recipients be prosecuted?
Quoted Text
Inappropriate Payments for Medicaid Recipients Residing and Enrolled in Other States Agency: Department of Health Issued 3/3/09 http://osc.state.ny.us/audits/allaudits/093009/08s4.htm
Quoted Text
Department of Health Inappropriate Payments for Medicaid Recipients Residing and Enrolled in Other States According to federal reports, during the period April 1, 2004 through May 31, 2008, the Department of Health made $28.4 million in Medicaid payments on behalf of New York State Medicaid enrollees who were also enrolled in another state’s Medicaid program. We found that the Department had not taken steps to effectively ensure that local social services districts acted in a timely manner to either investigate the enrollees identified on the reports or to remove them from New York’s Medicaid program. For example, the Department had not worked with the local districts to establish policies, procedures and time frames for completing investigations. In addition, the Department had not set up monitoring mechanisms to track the actual timeliness of the investigations, which often took more than two months to complete. We also found that the Department was not taking any steps to recover inappropriate managed care premiums paid on behalf of enrollees who no longer resided in New York State. We recommended that the Department strengthen its oversight of local district investigative efforts and pursue the recovery of inappropriate Medicaid payments whenever feasible.

It must be a complete disgrace for the Comptroller's office to complete the Metrograft audit many months ago and still bury it. We already know that they have been lying about IDA figures and counting out of County jobs in their mythical jobs created count. What did Amedore's office say about a release date? Death Ray also forgets to subtract the thousands of jobs that have fled the County from his figures. Like Super Steel, like Sunmark, like Jay St merchants. like Translation Services, like Van Dyke, etc., etc.... |

This is pure and utter negligence on the part of the comptroller' office that is paid for by us, the taxpayer. They clearly know that the plex is a taxpayers sham and yet no word...nothing comes out of that office. Transparency in government? Hardly! |

This is to advise that the Office of the State Comptroller has received your complaint concerning the Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority audit. Please be assured that our staff is reviewing this matter for appropriate action.
Thank you for bringing this matter to Comptroller DiNapoli’s attention. Let's see if anything is done about a formal complaint about the Metroplex Audit to the Comptrollers Audit. |

Good luck to you Shadow.
I have come to realize that no one in government believes that they are accountable to the people who elected them and who they serve. From the President to the state and the county government, our elected representatives have disdain for their constituents. Further, they have blantant disregard for their duties and for the rule of law that many flagrantly violate in full view of the public and the media.
It is my opinion that the NYS Comptroller, who I once held in high regard, it simply another bureaucrat who will ignore his duty to the public to protect the status quo. |
