People who created this mess shouldn’t be crying

I am so tired of hearing and reading what a mess our country is in. The media feeds us doom and gloom every day and night. Ponder this: America has been in dire straits before. We survived.
What I do find disturbing is that personal responsibility is rarely mentioned. To do so is perceived as scolding a generation which has lived way beyond their means. A lot of those who are whimpering knew they couldn’t afford a 6,000-square-foot home, but bought one anyway. Many knew their salaries could not support a high balance on a credit card, yet they spent in spite of it.
Is that Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac’s fault? Should any of this fiscal irresponsibility fall on the shoulders of anyone else except themselves? Whose fault is it that they did not do proper research prior to making the biggest investments of their lives? I think we all know the answer, but will not admit it.
One solution is simple: Live within your means.
By the way, I chanced to be in Saratoga a couple of weeks ago. The bars and restaurants appeared full, people were out in the stores, and finding a parking spot at the local Wal-Mart was like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It sure does not look to me as if we have laid down and quit, or stopped shopping for the holidays. We’ll weather this storm — hang in there.

Personal responsibility what a concept, and I agree it's about time the truth comes out.

TRUTH ? What a concept- Dog eat dog- everyman for himself-
After Cain had murdered his brother Abel, God asked him where his brother was. Cain answered, “I know not; am I my brother's keeper?”

Cain's words have come to symbolize people's unwillingness to accept responsibility for the welfare of their brothers-

Somebody.....we did not kill our 'brother'. The analogy you posted has nothing to do with expecting people to accept responsibility for THEMSELVES!! Actually God was also expecting Cain to take 'personal responsibility'.

But this is how this whole 'no personal responsibility started...in a biblical sense..........The serpent offers Eve the forbidden apple. She takes it. She offers it to Adam. He takes it. God asks Eve what she did. She says the serpent made me do it. God asks Adam what he did. He says Eve made him do it.

No personal responsibility. Always blaming everything and everyone else for their poor choices. Cain and Able have nothing to do with this senerio. IMHO
