A story in the gazette today reported:
Schalmont High School senior John Warzala collected 700 coats to gain Eagle Scout rank. He had 30 - 40 volunteers and donated them to the City Mission.
John is also a member of the Science Honor Society, the Schalmont varsity soccer team, the ski club, the varsity tennis team and a lifeguard at Duanesburg Community Center.

An excerpt from Randy Pausch's book, The Last Lecture.
'll take an earnest person over a hip person every time, because hip is short-term. Earnest is long-term. Earnest ness is highly underestimated. It comes from the core, while hip is trying to impress you with the surface. "Hip" people love parodies. But there's no such thing as a timeless parody, is there? I have more respect for the earnest guy who does something that can last for generations, and that hip people feel need the need to parody. When I think of someone who is earnest, I think of a Boy Scout who works hard and becomes an Eagle Scout.......Think about it. Becoming an Eagle Scout is just about the only thinkg you can put on your resume at age fifty that you did at age 14--and it still impresses.....
Congratulations to John and all other locals making Eagle. |

Joe, are you sure you gave proper credit to the Gazette? Did you violate the copyright by typing the news in? Just checking. |
| "While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat." |

being a wise - guy and you know it isnt against the law over there to give good news out typical rotterdam repub causing the trouble but again I have to say that the gazette is biased for the repubs since the city mission is run by a big repub and they are trying to help his political career over there |

What the heck does the city mission or republicans or democrats have to do with a young man earning the rank of eagle scout? That is probably his biggest accomplishment in his young life and you just had to diminish it by being a jerk Sal. |

it shows how th w gazette here is against the demos and helps the repubs at each chance over here just like they did with Daunesburg since the trouble with the roads and they hushed it all up to help the repubs but that didnt help since the people saw the truth out there and voted to boot the repubs. next year all the repubs will be out indeed |
