Police conclude wife of Rotterdam cop killed herself
Sunday, November 9, 2008

ROTTERDAM — A woman who was found dead in a residence on Floral Avenue Saturday afternoon was the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

State Police said 26-year-old Melissa E. Varrone died by suicide. Emergency personnel had responded at about 1:30 p.m. to 1017 Floral Ave, which is off Curry Road near Guilderland Avenue.

Varrone was the wife of a Rotterdam police officer, who was off duty and home at the time of the incident. The weapon involved was not his duty weapon, police said.

I found the whole article posted on the internet and not on the Gazette web site.

I see it at http://dailygazette.com/news/2008/nov/09/1109SUICIDE/

Maybe when I pasted it there was an extra space or . in it

Thankfully, I kept a screenshot and JoAnn was kind enough to let me link it here:

What a shame! I feel so bad for people who lose loved ones to suicide. I don't think anyone can rap their minds around it. It's too bad for sure!

And great article finds shadow and mt.
