This was on the TU on-line addition. Is this our very own Benny Salami? Or is there another?

Cheers for Obama at Proctor’s
November 4, 2008 at 10:12 pm by Rick Karlin
Our James Odato, who is at an election party gathering at Schenectady’s Proctor’s Theatre where between 85 and 100 people have gathered, the crowd broke into cheers when they learned that Obama is the projected winner of Ohio’s 20 electoral votes.

For the first time in a long time, I’m going to dig out the flag I’ve had packed away, to protect it from those who have soiled it so badly for the last eight years. I have become proud of my country again and I loath those who took that away for so long.

Be proud to be an American even if your party is not in power. It’s called patriotism. Doubt you even own a flag. Your hate for Pres Bush is beyond irrational.

That was a pretty sucky comment by iknowtruthismine.  I am not happy with how the election turned out, but he is our President, our leader and we need to give the position the respect it deserves and hope the man earns the respect he needs from us who don't believe.  I expect the worst and hope for the best over the next four years.  With that said, regardless of who our President is I WILL ALWAYS BE PROUD OF MY COUNTRY.  I will always be proud that I have the freedom to disagree and I will always be proud that we have a choice for President.  Doesn't always go the way you want it but thats ok too.

I agree Rene I've always loved my country as well, and I'm not happy with the way the elections went on the national level with Congress either. I hope Obama succeeds in bringing about an economic recovery as that's what's best for our country right now. I also hope he doesn't swing too far left with his views on how to achieve energy independence and allows us to drill for oil and build some new safe nuclear reactors to generate clean power. This nation has many problems confronting it and I hope that some of the more important ones can be solved without bankrupting us in the process.
