SCHENECTADY -- A Rotterdam man faced a robbery charge after, police say, he held up the Dunkin' Donuts at Broadway and Congress Street Monday night.
Joseph Ganther, 40, of Plunkett Avenue, entered the donut shop around 9:30 p.m., handed the cashier a note and implied he had a weapon, Officer Chris Wrubel said. The cashier allegedly told police that she believed he had a knife in his waistband.
Ganther fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. Later, police a located the suspect who, they say, matched the description of the robber. Ganther has been charged with first-degree robbery. He is awaiting arraignment in Schenectady City Court.
Police say they are trying to determine if Ganther was involved in an earlier robbery Monday at a Stewart's shop on Chrisler Avenue. |
