Tedisco to tie knot, skip Schenectady

Take Assemblyman Jim Tedisco’s name off the eligible bachelor list.  The Republican minority leader is getting hitched — and he’s moving out of Schenectady.

Tedisco, a Schenectady political and sports legend, and Mary Song of Saratoga Springs are planning a Nov. 15 wedding. The couple has been dating for 10 years.

They’ll be living in The Return, an upscale development in Glenville. Tedisco put his Belleve neighborhood home on the market this week while Song plans to lease her Saratoga Springs’ residence.

Tedisco, in his mid-50s, was the all-time high basketball scorer at Union College, a record that lasted for decades. He accomplished the feat before the three-point shot began.

He’s unbeaten politically,  winning two Schenectady City Council races before 13 straight Assembly victories. He’s expected to be unopposed in November.
