It would take more than a year to abolish the County Legislature ... you would have to amend the
county charter ... that is a fairly involved process.

We know.....it's already being looked into.

It is funny that you folks keep bashing Ms. Savage  ... she has only been in office 7 years -- yet Hugh Farley
has been in office 34 years and DONE NOTHING to help Schenectady County.     The fact is that you folks
are party hacks .... if the name say (R) after it .. you salivate and wag your tails like Pavlovian puppies.

I'm not a rep or a dem....I'm a registered blank. And there isn't too much lately that has caused me to salivate or wag my tail (if I had one)

But to your point.....if Farley has done NOTHING in 34 years and yet beat savage to a pulp in the last election....what does that tell you?

Obviously savage is even WORSE than Farley. And in your estimations, one can't get much worse. Well I guess one did!

Perhaps Farley did nothing......but everything savage did, was to her demise!

Farley played it safe and won! I'd call that great political strategy since neither of them are worth anything to write home about.

I would also like to see the Metroplex board be phased out -- and control of this economic development tool be returned to where it belongs -- either the County Legislature or a County Board of Supervisors --that way the people could hold the elected representatives directly responsible.

WOW! The Metrograft Bored is most insane unresponsive bored ever created. Talk about no taxation without representation. A total joke-for a good laugh watch these meetings on TV-18-shades of the old Soviet Union where everything Ray wants is approved unanimously. The first to stop cheering is thrown off the bored. Metrograft must be phased out but getting rid of these stooges is a positive start.

The fact is that the so-called Tea Party and conservative Republicans who whine for better government ...
were just selling a crock of dog crap.     They were only opposed to Democratic incumbents .. and refused
to hold Farley responsible for 34 years of doing NOTHING to solve our problems and voting 600 times
to raise our taxes.

Look at the GOP in the Senate -- they rolled over and approved that Arms Treaty during a lame duck
session -- after "protesting" for weeks that it should wait until the new Congress is seated -- they played
their "role" before the cameras ... went on Limbaugh, Beck, and Hannity ... and then did a 180 and sold
out the people that voted for them.

Oh -- and even State Senate Majority Leader-to-be Skelos is already backtracking on GOP campaign
promises for ethics reform.      The GOP only has "religion" when it is in the minority .. within hours of
being put in power they revert to being the political whores they really are.

The conservative/tea party movement is reforming the Republicans on fiscally conservative issues.  That Arms Treaty will be owned by Obama.  In an economy with nearly 10% unemployment, I don't think compromising on an arms treaty will hurt the Republicans too much politically.

If fiscal irresponsibility continues, RINO's will be replaced and the liberal democrats will be marginalized.  Budget numbers on the federal, state, and local level are not adding up.  This isn't a revenue problem, but rather a spending problem, that harsh reality will be upon us soon enough.

I am opposed at this time to ALL incumbents.  I said it before and I'll say it again.  For your information, this past election is the first that I could bring myself to vote for a person on the Democratic party line.  That's right, people, I don't just vote the party line.  I voted for change this past November, and got none of it.  And things stay the same here in Rotterdam, Schenectady County and across these United States of America.
