For the record - the YWCA and the  YMCA are two distinct and different organizations.

They both need a taxing district.

If you think so - draft the legislation and make the proposal at the next city council meeting.

It is apparent the Schenectady YWCA needs a taxing district.

More renaissance news! Everything is wonderbar Downtown! The critics have been right from the beginning. You can't build on mud. Death Ray {The other man with the bag} should fly in to the rescue the busted YWCA except he never helps nonprofits-unless they are Proctor's. Then he forks over $10 MILLION and asks for no return.

BTW, how's the attendance at the SCCC volleyball games at the new YMCA? ROTFLMAO!! "The SCCC volleyball team will be part of the dynamic miracle of Downtown" stated landslide SS Savage.

The Nattering Nayboobs of Negativity are so quick to criticize everything  .. but they are NEVER willing
to do the hard work of BUILDING UP their community.    They are a bunch of L.A.B.s

If you ever opened a property tax bill in Schenectady County, you just might understand.  But since you are a parasite and DON'T pay property tax, you will continue to live in your isolated little wonderland. Go get some real life grown up type of experience then come back an talk.

Somehow the fact that the YWCA is belly up is a positive thing? It's not the terrible reality-it's the fact that the right was correct about the facts that has DVR in a twisted knot. The answer to 35 years of socialist/DEM rule in the City is not more socialism. Simple and plain.

Metrograft is a total failure. It has not produced ANY jobs. It has not increased sales tax revenue, It has not stabilized property values. Just the opposite-it has encouraged nonprofits to pillage other City properties like the Key Bank or old Goldstock's that should have been put back on the tax rolls. The free fall continues. No wonder Schenectady is dead last in median household income.

Organizations like the YMCA and YWCA are hurting because their membership levels have dropped off
in many cities across the country -- not just in Schenectady.    Metroplex doesn't raise funds or supply
members to non-profit organizations  .. so blaming them is really just a cheap shot (about the only thing
the right wing nuts are good at is lobbing cheap shots)   and it is a baseless cheap shot  (but the the word
"right" .. in wing nut has NEVER stood for "correct").

So .. to Metroplex keep up the good work .. because economic revitalization will help EVERYONE including
the non-profits like the YMCA and the YWCA.

and to the right wing nuts .... why don't you all move to Wasilla, Alaska ... or Antartica ... or anyplace that
isn't  here  .. we really are tired of you

What has the metroplex done for the non-profit proctors?

It does NOT raise money for them .. it helped finance the improvements to the facility which in turn
has enabled Broadway-class programs to be put on at Proctor's ...which in turn has brought ECONOMIC
ACTIVITY to downtown.

Don't worry.

That's happening.  Pro-growth states are gaining residents, leaving NY, NJ, MA, etc...  with less and less representation, and less and less of a tax base.

You'll get your wish - more and more people will leave due to the horrible economic policies of progressives, and this state, along with others, will near bankruptcy and have to massively slash spending causing a massive upset in the socioeconomic system...   Which will force crime even further up.

It will probably take a generation to undo the damage that the liberal socialist progressives have created. They have sold the farm to every union, special interest group and government social program at the hard working taxpayer's expense. For NYS to cut spending now, will surely cause a revolt and they know it.

Cut the government social programs and stand up to the unions and either someone will end up dead or they will never to be elected for office in nys!

The apparachik will be rioting in the city streets around NY once they force out those small business owners and those in the middle class that financially support them.  It will become unsustainable.  This isn't negativity, this is reality.  Watch the news, look at Greece and the other European countries.  The sh!t is really going to hit the fan when this new Congress is seated in 2011 and they cut spending, defunding many State programs.  These government parasites will be running like cockroaches when reality sets in.
