Blaze damages Rotterdam home Saturday, March 22, 2008
ROTTERDAM — A house at 138 Sherman St. was damaged by fire Saturday afternoon. Carman Fire Chief Dave Galko said family members were home at the time, and escaped uninjured. The fire started by accident in the basement, he said, and spread to a first-floor bedroom. Smoke and heat damage spread through the house. Carman received mutual aid from the Rotterdam District 2, Stanford Heights and Fort Hunter fire departments, and South Schenectady stood by at the Carman station.

They're speculating that the house might need to come down because of structural issues to the floors. It's 4 doors from my in-laws.
