There is no win for the City of Schenectady here, simply more money in Galesi's pocket.

There are no retailers secured for this site...just a 'promise'.

Just like Center City, a HUGE waste of space which is being filled in with businesses which ALREADY occupy the City and they have to be given $84K for 'relocation' cost.

Listen to the flushing....it's another $4 million wasted in a City which needs help for MP, Bellevue, the Stockade and especially on the Hill.

Hey, I have an idea...Let's speed the renaissance up and take ALL commercial property off the tax rolls, and advertise to EVERYBODY that Schenectady County will give $50K to every business that moves into the City?  If we came this far with the nickel and diming with Metroplex money, imagine if we DOUBLED OR TRIPLED the amount of taxpayer money they could give away?

Let's raise the sales tax to 10% or 11% and have a 5 year property tax exemption on ALL commercially zoned property, and start rebuilding Schenectady.  Schenectady could look like midtown Manhattan by 2020.

LET'S SPEED THIS PROCESS UP ALREADY.

If the taxpayers were willing to give Metroplex MORE working capital, maybe they can complete the renaissance quicker and close down the Metroplex.

Both the remaining taxpayers in Schenectady are thinking about your idea Cicero. The people I interviewed at the DSS building are all for it because they said that they don't pay taxes anyway. The hot-dog vendor is undecided.

So THAT's why DV is all in favor of these projects.

Well, he claims to pay taxes but we all know that's a big lie.   Well, guess he does pay a few cents in taxes - the sales taxes on all the meals that he claims to be eating out all the time, but the net effect probably is still a loss to the taxpayers because eating like that surely increases the cost of medical care for obvious reasons

Put down the eggnog DVR. Attention all school kids-look at your inspiration in City Hall. If he could be elected any of you can. $200,000 a year to do nothing, hire incompetents, take over the s*** plant and pad every pension in sight. When caught by the media-lie about it. Say Mayor Jennings is also doing it.

Under Republican leadership, the ALCO site rusted and decayed ... under Democratic leadership it is being transformed into a vibrant  commercial retail and residential complex.

and the RENAISSANCE goes on ... and the RENAISSANCE goes on ....

Hard to justify how a City can spend taxpayers millions via Metroplex to clean up ALCO and then another $4 million dollar state taxpayer-funded grant to build condos.

Four million could have:

- Put sidewalks around the High School and Middle Schools so children and pedestrians could walk safely through the City.

-Paid for repairing Erie Bld, Broadway, Crane and other roadways

-Paid for better lighting, more security cameras AND officers to man cameras 24/7

-Paid for green spaces, better/safer parks and neighborhood upkeep

-Paid for officers to be foot patrol in the Hill, in MP in Bellevue

-Paid for security cameras down in the Stockade which has been tagged with graffiti on every block and have recently had more car break-ins

-Paid for the removal of the massive amount of graffiti on the train trellises and on other public property

Instead of building condos which are not needed in a City with such a high vacancy rate (and with another $3.1 million spent building on Union & Barrett Streets), this grant money could have given the City a big step in the right direction. Instead, this money is going to be flushed into a connected developers cesspool.......

The constant disinformation campaign continues. You and the other DEM moron should buy the condo right next to the RPI nuclear reactor. Beautiful view of the Gillen dirt pile. Oh that's right they can't sell any condos in the City because of the insane DEM taxation.
