The accessibility to the beautiful Mohawk River will be another HUGE selling factor ... residents can jog, bike, or
walk along the bike trail.    Residents can enjoy Broadway quality entertainment at Proctor's and the growing
mix of eateries and shops in the ever improving downtown.

Schenectady will sparkle like a diamond.

I thought it already IS sparkling. You mean it DOESN'T ????????????????? Hmmmm

This is an exciting time to be living in Schenectady County.  The progressive improvements made in the
past half-dozen years are just the beginning.   The County is on the verge of a new Golden Age.

Yep, it's sure "exciting"  if you think excitement means dodging bullets, if you think drug deals happening while your children are walking home from school is exciting, if you think the 50% non-graduation rate is exciting, if you think school bullying is exciting, if you think a terrorist in the school is exciting, if you think it's exciting to have bums and vagrants entering all the vacant housese and start fire and if you think it'x exciting to watch houses on fire, well, that's just a short list

I say this with zero animosity or intent to insult.

I'm being very genuine when I say this.

Uh, and tell us how the residents are going to pay for the entertainment and the restaurants?????    Can you answer that????????    With a total household income of a mere $30,000 trying to support a family and pay the taxes for the millionaires, tell us HOW they are supposed to attend shows and go out to eat?   Tell us how the eldelry on fixed incomes who are having their taxes increased are supposed to afford such enjoyment when they are in danger of losing their homes??????   Can you answer these questions?

Actually, I think that is a great location along the river.   I could see myself buying a couple of those
condos as an investment.

DV, why don't you buy one of the THOUSANDS of EXISTING residential investment properties in the city?????????????????

Well, can you tell us all why????????         Why should we have condos built at taxpayer expense when we can save a HUGE GIGUNDA sum of money and people can buy one of the EXISTING THOUSANDS of EXISTING properties.

Just think, DV, instead of using tax dollars on non-essentials like these foolish condos, the money could be used to restore the fire dept cuts, could be used to have more police seeing as there has been a DRAMATIC INCREASE in crime, and the money could be used to open the pools too.

I mean can you REALLY believe that Ellis hospital, as a financially struggling NFP which surely stands to lose money in cuts made by the state, still gives a donation to the city and if I heard correctly it's to be used to open Quackenbush pool.

Now, tell us DV, where are the downtown millionaires?    Since we pay their property and school taxes, don't you agree with me that they should each make a donation to keep each park and pool and playground open????????     But why arent' they???????

Between the new mixed use project being built on the former ALCO site in the city ... and Bicentenniel Park
and other improvements in the works for Rotterdam Junction --- Schenectady County will have a world class
river front.

Oh, yeah. people wil go diving off the docks into the tangled mass of rebar on the riverbed in that spot. I can see it now. What a beautiful location for a picnic, if there wasn't a nuclear reactor on the property that very few people know about, but eventually will.

There used to be a nuclear reactor on property east of the railroad tracks  near Seneca Street.   That was
where GE did its first nuclear power tests before Kesselring and Knolls.

As far as I know, ALCO never did any nuclear power tests or built any nuclear reactors on its property.

Quoted from Shadow
GE is not involved with the reactor.

GE had an early reactor just off Seneca Street between the railroad and Foster Avenue in the 1940's --
eventually those testing facilities were moved to  Knolls in Niskayuna and Kesselring up in Milton.

As for the ALCO site,  I repeat that I am not aware of ALCO being involved in nuclear reactor testing on
its property.
