Hmmm, public safety, a constitutionally authorized activity that costs the Rotterdam homeowners 3 CENTS per day VERSUS handing out millions UNCONSTITUTIONALLY to private groups, business interests, welfare hogs unmotivated to work or better themselves, boondoggles, PR directors, party planners, and other waste of tax money that equals FOUR DOLLARS PER DAY????

Which item does it make sense for a public official to stand against? Really hard choice.
But if a service can be handled by the private sector, doesn't it make sense in a conservative, CAPITALIST nation to promote 'private sector' businesses/jobs? This would clearly promote competition resulting in lower costs, giving people jobs hence stimulating the economy. It would be a win-win situation. As Liberty stated, a formation of a tax district is just pandering to the unions and politicizing the process. A vote getter, if you will. Just look at Glendale home...it ain't working and is costing the taxpayers a bundle. I'm sure that during the inception of the Glendale home, it was costing the taxpayers pennies a day too. Look at us now!

I'm going to copy and paste this under Rotterdam Ambulance cause we are way off topic here!!! Let's continue the discussion there.

Private sector in a CAPITALIST society is clearly and most certainly the only way to go. Creating a tax district will only add to and enhance the already almost socialist society we live in.

Is this why Mertz is out and Suhrada's in?

Well, I just watched the channel 6 report. Greg Floyd did an outstanding job and asked all of the important questions. I jumped for joywhen he mentioned the audit, or lack there of, of the plex. If Greg Floyd can get out there and ask the tough questions....why can't the gazette? Just be ready for the 'damage control' articles that will come from of the gazette/Lamandola.

As far as Waite....he clearly has a plushy office and is clearly a LAWYER!!!

If he hasn't paid the liens off yet...I don't see this moving forward.

I predict...that he will go bankrupt....and I hope I'm wrong.

Yeahhhhh, OK Sal. Let's make sure no one asks even one question against the pure, innocent and perfect government clowns! I just saw Surhada on TV and he called the Big House "The biggest run-around in the history of Schenectady!" LOL!!! THAT WAS FUNNY AND TRUE! WAKE THE HELL UP SAL AND ALL OF YOU FOOLS, IT IS YOUR MONEY AND SURHADA IS AT LEAST FIGHTING FOR YOU TO KEEP IT!

There should be an FBI investigation into Metrograft. A million dollars of your County taxes completely wasted! Ditto at Gillette House! Nobody knew nuthin-nobody saw nuthin-keep voting incumbent Krat-Why didn't Floyd interview Death Ray? The "czar". More elbows and rear ends. Especially the latter.

Waite couldn't run out fast enough. Nothing will open. Liens are piling up on the Big Hose. Taxpayer (county sheeple) are now in a vulnerable 3rd position behind other creditors. Look for another Van Dyke. Suhrada should be elected our first County Executive. Disband Metrograft-send Death Ray shuffling off to Buffalo. Maybe they need a Metrograft? Only complete morons support this Metrograft madness.

The Gazetto has been in the bag for both Death Ray and Metrograft. They refuse to print the truth about Downtown Schenectady. Then they wonder why nobody reads them. This was suppose to be a model-10 years later NO ONE has copied this. No other County has taxpayers stupid enough to fall for this.

Take another look at State Street below Erie. Over 25 empty storfronts line both sides of the street. Empty law offices, empty banks, empty stores. In the middle of the ruin sits Gillen's Gulch-the failed retail "mecca" where Robinson's Furniture was.

IMHO Joe SueRahrah looked like a buffoon trying to somehow equate the AIG mess into what
is going on with Mr Waite.  Kinda like Jimmy Jumpshot cracking Murphy with the same AIG whip

BTW both losers in their next elections.  Joe SueRahRah comes off like a yesterday blowhard
out of the mold of Dom Gallo, Frank Duci and Joe Sigsnore in my humble opinion.

Joe give it a rest and crawl back into the Winnie the Pooh honey pot with your teeth rotting
candy empire.

Joe, you scare people with your zealot act.

The FBI needs to come investigate Metrograft. The FBI should open an office Downtown to avoid the daily commute. That would create jobs-not popcorn jobs!! Let the chips fall where they may.

Joe Suhrada is right on about Metrograft. Only idiots would attack the taxpayer watchdog. Some small business? A multi-million dollar taxpayer ripoff. Can't even open a gin mill. Disgraceful dereliction of duty. The State Audit must be horrible if the Kratz have suppressed it for months. The IDA Audit uncovered the truth about the phony job numbers.

I watched this on my sisters computer since mine does not have the video thing on it and I was appauled at how scarey Surhad is when he srceams and yells about  that poor man who is trying to get the work done. He has the rich businesses looking to get money from him and they are not even willing to wait for when he opens it looks like to me so how fair is this? That guy isnt even open yet and these out fits want him to pay 60,000 and another wants 39000 from him. GIVE HIM A BRAKE AND LET HIM OEPEN AND MAKE SOME MONEY FOR CHRIST SAKES. HOW MUCH DID SURHAD GET FROM THOSE BUSINESSMEN FOR HIS CAMPAIGN TO GO AFTER THE MAN? HOW MUCH?

Well, IMHO the plex is most definitely like the AIG. And Suhrada, who I may not always agree with, was right on target with that one! And Sal, I can definitely see how 'appalled you were hearing/seeing Suhrada on your 'sister's computer'. Ya see Sal...you are use to the dems and the liberal media covering up the 'truth' as it really is. So when the truth hits you straight on, you don't have a clue how to handle it or even understand it. Same goes for you PDQ.

If both of you REALLY think Suhrada was wrong....then you are both part of the problem in this county. Get informed! Get educated....and get a second job cause you'se will surely need one if the plex and gang continue on this spending spree with our money with no accountability....no return on our investment.....loss of jobs and no sustainable employment AFTER '10' YEARS!

Ya think letting Waite (a bankruptcy lawyer) buy a building for a buck....giving him 'our' tax dollars to rebuild the building, while he runs his office at no charge out of that building and not paying his contractors good stewardship for our money? Think again please!

you people are crooked and if you think that Surhad is a conserv? He is no conserv, he is a fake like Gad Fly says. For once I am on the same team as her and will work to get rid of the cancer he is on the town this year when he runs for re -electton.
