Third annual Restaurant Week set in Schenectady Tuesday, January 15, 2008 By James Schlett (Contact) Gazette Reporter
SCHENECTADY — Fifteen eateries will participate in the city’s third annual Restaurant Week, which is slated to run from Jan. 29 to Feb. 2. The weeklong event, designed to attract customers into area restaurants during a winter lull, will feature its traditional offering of a three-course meal at the fixed price of $19.62. The price reflects the year Schenectady’s Stockade neighborhood was declared New York’s first historic district. Newcomers to this year’s Restaurant Week will be Aperitivo, a chic-metro bistro on State Street, and the Wine Down club on Union Street. Also joining the event are Thai Bistro on State and Petta’s Restaurant on Duane Avenue. All of the participating restaurants have posted their menus on http://www.sayschenectady.org. To further promote area eateries, the Chamber of Schenectady County and the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corp. have produced a 2008 Dining Guide.
