Police say Rotterdam Super 8 had been robbed before Thursday, January 3, 2008 By Steven Cook (Contact) Gazette Reporter
ROTTERDAM — Wednesday night’s robbery of the Super 8 motel on Carman Road was not its first, or even its second, police said today. The motel at 3083 Carman Road was hit just after 10 p.m. A man brandishing a shotgun walked in and robbed the motel clerk, making off with an undetermined amount of cash, police said. It was the third or fourth time the motel has been robbed in recent years, town police spokesman Lt. Michael Brown said. He was not aware of arrests in the other cases, but said there was nothing to indicate Wednesday's robbery was related. Police only had a vague description of the suspect in Wednesday's robbery: a man about 5-feet-6 wearing a skeleton-style mask and grey hooded sweatshirt. Police used a canine in an attempt to track the suspect, but were unsuccessful, Brown said. Anyone with information is asked to call town police at 355-7397.
If these businesses are robbed so often, perhaps they should consider installing cameras like the banks do. It would certainly make the assailant think twice before robbing an establishment and even help in their capture.

You live over in that area? It's a long run to get to my house from there.
Well if you are over on the west end, then the west end will have their fair share soon enough if the proposed Flying J's gets approved.
