Petta is not selling Petta's Restaurant owner Mike Petta says street reports that he is selling the place to Schenectady County and purchasing vacant Luigi's Restaurant are inaccurate.

"If I had an offer to buy my existing restaurant I would sell and purchase Luigi's, but I don't have any offers," said Petta, a Schenectady County legislator.

Besides the restaurant, Petta owns most of the property on his block, which he says makes it a potential development tract. "Even if the county wanted the property I couldn't sell to them because it would be a conflict of interest."

Petta's family has owned the Hamilton Hill restaurant for the past 58 years. "If I was 10 years younger, I would keep my restaurant, buy Luigi's, and run both places," Petta said. "Instead, I'm 55 and looking forward to slowing down."
