I'm not currently a Rotterdam resident, I live in the City (but lived for 30 years IN Rotterdam prior to getting married) , but I care for a parent living (alone) in Rotterdam - hopefully that is allowable for the administrator here to let me post my comments.
I'm not normally an "angry" person, but this jackass has really gone out of their way to question the character and reputation, and made some pretty blatent accusations against at least two people that I know well, Pat Z and George Amedore, not to mention the upset I'm sure their posts have caused to the administrator here.
Let me tell ya, the parent I care for recently had to have "Visiting Nurses". Ironically, she had a nurse with the initials BK ... got to know that person pretty well over the course of two months of visits. Do I know you?
I know Lumpy. I have ZERO use for Lumpy. He BLATENTLY stole the legislation fro Suhrada. I've got Suhrada's ORIGINAL documents. This wasn't something he took notes on during a "discussion" - this was identical.
Lumpy has done NOTHING for this city that has benefitted the taxpayers. In fact, Lumpy has voted to raise taxes NINE times during his political "career". Amedore is a businessman, who is fiscally conservative and runs a business, Lumpy is a failed self employed plumber that now needs to live off taxpayer subsidy. Does he (Amedore) have political experience? YES - but not in elected office. Every day as a business owner, he must keep his head held high, sell his products and services in a morally upright fashion and in the end be responsible to the customers - much like legislators and councilmen (Lumpy) must be accountable to the taxpayers/constituents that they represent.
Lumpy. Purely something the democrats threwup (not quite throwup) just to put some semblance of competition in the race. Fortunately, I think the taxpayers are sick of the same-o same-o with politics in this area and will finally realize that out local and state govt's need to start being run like a business, with responsible, morally upright businessmen making the decisions. Amedore, in my opinon is that man for this race.
That's why Suhrada makes such a good Legislator - he undertstands the need for fiscal conservatism and how to make decisions that sometimes might not be the most POPULAR, but are the best for those he represents based on experience, research and gut instinct.
Bottom line is I'm voting for Amedore. If I had NOT made up my mind, I'd rely on the opinions of those that I know and trust, like Pat Z., Joe Suhrada, the Administrator of these forums and comments from others that know more about govt workings than I do. I'm fortunate to have friends like these and anytime someone starts threatening them, I take a personal interest in it.
So BK, pretend like it's August first already and disappear. Certainely you have nothing to contribute to our city/town/county rather than being an obnoxious pain in the a$$.

A one sided ignorant rant by people who only see things in black and white. "I won't vote for Kosiur because he's a democrat" Thats what I mean my being deaf, dumb, and blind. Choose the right CANIDATE first, regardless of what political party they are affiliated with. I bet there are many people out there that are Republican that would not vote for George Bush again (hypothetically), nor John Mertz, or some of the bumbling politicians in and outside of this geographic area. There are "slime bags" on both sides PatZ. PatZ as always, has an agenda, pretending to be an innocent blogger, that has original ideas, when actually she is just an arm or tool of certain politicians

It could be Signore - but in this instance I was referring to Lumpy - the FORMER small businessman that couldn't make it as a plumber (cleaning toilets) .. so he went into "public service" instead of "pubic" service.

"A breath of fresh air?" Palleezzz! And I would have to guess that mr/s Patriot is going to vote for the 'best' candidate, but how s/he comes up with the 'best candidate', I'd be curious to know. And as far as being deaf, dumb and blind for voting against the dems only means that you, mr/s patriot must be deaf, dumb and stupid for not seeing, hearing and using your brain to see that the dems have driven Schenectady and Rotterdam into the ground. Making Schenectady the laughing stock of the state!!! And if Mr. Kosiur had a hand in that...which he did.....he clearly does not deserve to be representing us at a state level.
Mr. Kosiur implemented a sex offender law that will impact all of the surrounding communities for years to come. And has any of the leaders from those towns/communities been asked to take part of this discussion? NO! So Mr. Kosiur can ride the campaing trail, tooting his own 'sex offender law', horn which is clearly one of the worst laws ever! Well...on second thought it would be a tie with the Blanchard spray paint/marker law!

What about the families that don't work that are on section 8 housing. Ya know the mother, 4 kids, 3 different daddy's, with the live in boyfriend working on her 5th kid. My guess is that the money he's going to save the working families will just end up funding the non-working families.

If you read this campaign flyer, you might think that Mr. Kosiur is schizophrenic. On one hand he tells you he's going to ease the tax burden, then he proceeds to tell you in the same flyer how he readily spends tax dollars on government programs.
I don't know the man, but whoever made this flyer sure did a good job making him look like a moron.

why do we need after school programs.....because in NYS you have to work either 2jobs per adult in a household or 80hours a week at one job, just to get overtime$$.....again---it's what China does to 'stay on top'---work work work for the 'mother country'/'her',,,is that what we want here in America?? It looks like the Schenectady County Democrats are at it again — foisting yet another tired politician, with a record of raising taxes and spending more of our hard-earned money. That’s right, [County Legislator] Ed Kosiur voted to raise taxes while a member of the county Legislature over and over again — leading our county to be the eighth-highest taxed, per capita, in the nation. And what did he do about protecting our children? He relocated sex offenders from his own back yard in the city of Schenectady to places in Rotterdam, Princetown and Duanesburg. I guess rural children don’t matter as much to Mr. Kosiur.
