Shadow...I haven't seen a one of them! I wish I did, cause I'd give them an earfull! And has anyone Googled Ed Kosiur? Just try it....it aint good. Even the negative posts from this site is on there. I think that Amedore IS giving Kosiur a run for his money. It will be a very very interesting election.

Shadow...what did you say to them?....just curious!!!

Ed Kosiur - Sex Offender Law details
According to the New York Civil Liberites Union, Ed Kosiur's law is "ill-conceived, Draconian, and irresponsible." and is "Political Pandering at its Worst." Ed Kosiur pushed for the law because he was running for Assembly, and his colleagues in the legislature allowed it. By passing the law, the legislature engaged in the "rankest politics."

I asked Paul T who was doing most of the talking why he thought that the race was so close. He said he didn't know but did say that the election is going to be very close. He said he can't understand why a guy with no experience is getting so much support rather than a proven politician. When he said that I just snickered as I think he really knows the answer. I told them that I thought that the fact of Ed voting for raising taxes had something to do with it too.

Good for you shadow. I wish I had that opportunity. I  mean we can do it here on this site and it is all over the 'World Wide Web', but face to face has it's benefits as well.

And of course Kosiur has the Teacher's union backing him. Like that's a surprise. The Democrat Party is an arm of NYSUT. And we know Kosiur’s positions against  the growth of charter schools. Charter and private schools just get in the way of liberal indoctrination of children.

AFL-CIO backs
Kosiur for 105th

SCHENECTADY— The state AFL-CIO has endorsed Schenectady County Legislator Ed Kosiur for the 105th Assembly District seat left vacant by former Assemblman Paul Tonko.
The endorsement followed recommendations by the COPE committee of the Capital District Area Labor Federation, according to a union news release.
The AFL-CIO has about 12,000 union members in the district, according to Capital District Area Labor Federation Secretary-Treasurer Bob Mantello. Kosiur, a Democrat, faces Republican George Amedore Jr., a builder, in the July 31 special election.

Let Kosiur defend sex offender law in suburbs

On July 12 I attended a town board meeting at which the Comprehensive Child Protection Act, recently enacted by the Schenectady County Legislature, was discussed. The residents who attended that meeting were concerned that this law could result in the relocation of sex offenders to Duanesburg.
Registered offenders are prohibited from living within 2,000 feet (nearly one-half mile) of schools, parks, pools, youth centers and child care facilities. Regardless of the questionable merits of the law, it is clear that registered sex offenders will not be able to reside in urban areas because of the 2,000-foot restriction. Where will they reside?
Legislator Ed Kosiur, sponsor of this hastily enacted legislation, is now running for state Assembly. His Web site says he “led the fight in the county Legislature to keep dangerous sex offenders away from our children.” I hope that Mr. Kosiur’s campaign will include a visit to Duanesburg. Many residents would like an explanation of how this law makes the children who live here, and in other rural communities where registered offenders may eventually locate, safer.

Kosiur's voting record speaks for itself. And let's not forget that he is promising even 'more' government programs. Something that the taxpayers don't need. I'm voting for Amedore....and ya wanna know why? Cause I don't want Kosiur!!!

Kosiur comes from the Schenectady democratic machine....and look at Schenectady! My God, there is ONE block of State Street that has bars, a theater and a hotel. And yet they try to build their pathetic democratic platform on ONE BLOCK! The rest of the city lives pathetically. Paying pathetic taxes for NOTHING! Their roads are a mess for days after a snow storm. Crime is totally out of control. Code enforcers are slapping fines on people with codes that are either out of date or illegal! And let us not forget the spraypaint/marker law or the infamous sex offender law.

Now why the hell would anyone vote for anyone who has been a part of this MESS!!! Not me!

Tonko's efforts drawing critics
Some say NYSERDA president should stay out of Assembly race

By RICK KARLIN, Capitol bureau
First published: Monday, July 23, 2007

ALBANY -- You can take the politician out of politics but you can't take politics out of the politician.
That may sum up the situation in the hotly contested race for the 105th Assembly District in Montgomery and Schenectady counties. Republicans are grumbling that former Democratic Assemblyman Paul Tonko, less than a month into a job in the Spitzer administration, has been campaigning for Democrat Ed Kosiur, the Schenectady County legislator seeking Tonko's old seat in the 105th Assembly District.

Kosiur faces homebuilder George Amedore Jr., lately of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" fame. The special election is July 31.

Tonko, now president and CEO of the state Energy and Research Development Authority, has been busily stumping for Kosiur, appearing at events like the popular July 4th Strawberry Festival in St. Johnsville, and he's endorsed him in a series of "robo-calls" and TV ads.

Republicans like Matt Walter, spokesman for the Republican State Committee, pointed to an executive order that Democratic Gov. Eliot Spitzer issued at the start of his term titled "Eliminating Politics From Government Decision Making," which directs employees of state agencies to keep politics out of their decisions.

"This is the latest hypocrisy by Gov. Spitzer, who breaks his own rules when it suits his political purposes," said Walter.

He said former state Sen. Michael Balboni, a Republican whom Spitzer appointed homeland security czar, stayed out of the race to replace him in Long Island's 7th District, even though Spitzer worked on behalf of Democrat Craig Johnson, who won the race. Balboni's wife, Stephanie, supported the Republican, Maureen O'Connell.

Tonko, though, said he's been campaigning weekends, evenings and other times when he's not on the job at NYSERDA.

"I can obviously work (for Kosiur) after hours," said Tonko, who said he has strong opinions about the district.

Spitzer spokesman Paul Larrabee agreed there is no restriction on Tonko helping Kosiur on his own time.

Kosiur also is getting help from U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, whose voice is being used on a series of automated calls urging voters to support him, said Republicans.

The race for the 105th comes at a sensitive time, and place, for Republicans. Last week, the Democrats increased their majority in the 150-seat house to 108 seats when Westchester Assemblyman Mike Spano switched his registration from Republican to Democrat.

And the 105th is adjacent to the district of Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco, who is working on Amedore's behalf. Rather than pre-record calls, Tedisco has been personally working the phones, according to his aides. Rick Karlin can be reached at 454-5758 or by e-mail at rkarlin@timesunion.com.

Tonko is out campaigning for Kosiur
Because Kosiur is in trouble.

I just heard a radio commercial 'promoting' Kosiur.

It first started with 2 women talking on how Mr. and Mrs. Kosiur work 2 jobs just like 'the rest of us'. That is BS...cause Mr.Kosiur don't count since he DOES NOT work in the private sector...so he don't have a clue.

Then it went to Tonko speaking on how he and Kosiur worked together. Well Mr. Tonko...you never did a thing while in office...ever! And you are so detatched from the average working family. Has he EVER had a private sector job? A wife? Kids?  Tonko has just lived and paid his bills and will retire on OUR tax dollar. Just like Mr. Kosiur is trying to do! UNLESS WE STOP THAT ON 7/31/07!!!!!

Every politician today that runs for an office is not looking for a job he's looking for a career so that the tax payers can pay his salary and pension and he'll never have to worry about a thing. Politicians have become vampires sucking the life blood out of us tax payers.
